Thanks for the clarification. I just removed because of the power tubes, but found a workaround to put it with larger screws. For now: Mullard 6v6g stcc wd arrow and Mullard 12au7 10m- Honeypot

Interesting. Which mullard did you choose? I am using Mullard 12au7 10m and the sound is just another league compared to any other 12au7 I've ever tried. I don't know how they would compare to e80cc's. I still can't understand how these tubes work in the circuit, given the v and amps. One last...- Honeypot

I am with you both, I found in this forum a few people who helped me a lot in my starting journey of tubes. And as you mentioned, I was also a SS amp guy, just for the feeling I didn't want to "lose" a sound I was loving from a set of tubes. This all started with the Feliks echo, where I was...- Honeypot

I have a question guys/girls. I ended ultimately using auteur pads with my AO. But something I am not very confident with is that is the correct pad for left and right. With caldera, both stock and thick pads, the Closing stitched are near the cable connection. However with some other pads it's...- Honeypot

Try Mullard 12au7 10m with mullard 6v6g kt61 st shape or Mazda 6v6gt. Another amazing combo. If you want a cheaper option go for Mullard 6v6gt t shape with tungsram 12au7. The latest shouldn't be much more than 200$. The first option is my golden and I have spare for my entire life. Since I got...- Honeypot

I do have the auteur pads and they have become my favorite with ao. The universe are also very fun, but overall, the auteur give me a bit more soundstage, relaxed treable and yet very nice bass. I was in the same boat some time ago. Long story short. Yes, the caldera is much better for...- Honeypot

Didn't know the ha-3a could get e80cc. Don't they have higher gain and different plate resistance?- Honeypot

I didn't know vacuum tubes could glow blue, so I asked ChatGPT.: Vacuum tubes glow blue due to a phenomenon called Cherenkov radiation. When high-speed electrons pass through a vacuum, they can exceed the speed of light in that medium, emitting blue light as a result. This effect is commonly...- Honeypot

You don't necessarily need aegis for good bass. Place good tubes in a well made amp and the thing can get veeery impressive. I agree that AO can surprise many with the right amp or tubes, but also data doesn't lie, and AC has greater subbass. I got the AO thinking uniquely in their expansive...- Honeypot
