Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I’ve grown Indigo Rose blue tomatoes. It’s a good tomato, although of the smaller varieties, my favorites are the Black Cherry and White Cherry. Coincidentally I’m currently listening to “Strange Fire” by Indigo Girls.

I really agree with you on that one. I know Jason said the plan was to close it, but I’d love it if they can keep it going, if not in Newhall, maybe somewhere closer to Pasadena (a selfish suggestion as that would be convenient to me). It says something about the product if you can say “come...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Is this part of Apple Music’s “Keep Media folder Organized” feature? I turned it on briefly. It started moving my files around and I quickly shut it off. It appeared to do more damage than was worth any problem it solved. I put my files in specific places because that’s where I want them. I...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I can’t offer a comparison since I have never listened to a Lyr, but I will say that the Freya+ with tubes running is a distinctly different sound from the solid state stage. What I notice most is that pianos sound richer in a way that is really satisfying. I like what the tubes do to Art...

Sounds like a lousy day. I hope things improve soon. It’s situations like this that let you know you need to get away from the problem for a while. I will say that I’m very happy with the Valhalla 2. It provides a nicely different experience from the Mjolnir 3. While I understand the desire...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I have the Steven Wilson mix of Aqualung. My digital version of Thick as a Brick sounds good, but I wouldn’t object to hearing another mix. The one Tull CD I have that really needs help is Broadsword and the Beast (I believe this was the original CD release). I actually bought a Lokius to...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I have two LPs of “Thick as a Brick” - the one I bought in high school… probably around 1982, and my father’s copy which is an earlier pressing with the full newspaper included. My 1982 copy has a lot of distortion in it (maybe it was at the end of the run for that particular stamper) but my...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Seems pretty accurate. I typed in Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits was the next closest artist. And I’d say those two are pretty much my favorite musical artists. Additionally a large number of artists that popped up were also ones I liked quite a bit. Seems worth using as a way to find new stuff.

My brother has some kind of motion sensing bidet-self cleaning toilet seat thing installed in his bathrooms. There is something rather disturbing about a toilet that starts drooling as you approach it.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

The Ragnarok sounds like a great deal although it doesn’t really fit into my systems - I’ve never listened to one so I can’t comment on it. But I’m currently listening to “Pictures at an Exhibition” through the Mjolnir 3 with a set of Hifiman HE400ESE 32 ohm headphones and it sounds really...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I’m a newbie when it comes to tubes as well so this kind of information is really helpful. And now I’m starting to eye the “last call” Valhallas on Schiit’s site.

Speaking of Jazz, I’m currently listening to “The Complete 3 Blind Mice” by Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers. I’ve listened to the title track several times, but I’d forgotten how good the whole album is.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I’m getting a better sense of where tubes work in the kind of music I listen to. (A lot actually, but here are some specifics) I’m currently listening to “Gloryland” by Anonymous 4 (women’s choral of early and religious music). Sounds great on the Mjolnir 3. On the Vali 2++ it loses detail...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

This is a huge relief!!! Now I can happily go back to impulse buying Schiit! (I’ll admit I get a great deal of joy living close enough to the Schiitr that I can come in and listen to stuff and walk away with some fun new audio gear.)
