It really depends — for me: in a quiet environment, an open-back headphone like Susvara is always going to be better. When there is a need to be in a loud place, closed-back headphones are always better. When there is a need to travel/remain portable (imagine traveling with a Susvara chain lol)...

What's with all the hate for Abyss / Diana DZ on Reddit? Did I miss something and all of a sudden Abyss is "uncool"? Or is /r/headphones just full of gamer-audiophiles with <$250 budget?

My understanding is that the TC is a bit of a scalpel, a tool, while the DZ has a bit of a more audiophile grade tuning… a more enjoyable listening experience— hence the focus on comfort (reduced weight and second headband).
