I have a local connector and wire store which can order most of the range from Neutrik and other brands. -
Mogami cable for HD650 - W2534 or W2549
Actually it will be shorter than 200 centimeters. But you're right, it doesn't matter. I've already found the answer. -
Mogami cable for HD650 - W2534 or W2549
I will build a new cable for the HD650 and I'd like to try a Mogami cable. I am thinking about the W2534 (Quad) and the W2549 (Dual). With the W2549 I would use two cables, one for each channel. The cable will be terminated with a 4 pin XLR connector and used with balanced and SE gear. I am...- Von Soundcard

HD650 earpads - do they have a shelf life ?
Regarding my question, it only refers to new, unworn, unopened and sealed pads. I would like to know if these velour pads have a SHELF LIFE, meaning if the material starts to age and lose its properties WHILE ON THE SHELF, after 2-3 years.- Von Soundcard

HD650 earpads - do they have a shelf life ?
I found a pair of new (sealed) earpads for my 650 at a local store. Thing is they are over a year old, could have 2 or even 3 years since manufactured. So to all who've ordered these: do this type of "velour" pads have a shelf life, that is after a time do they start to "age", does the material...- Von Soundcard

Hi, I wanted to order some parts from you (wire etc.). What's the best way to contact you for that, mail ? How do you take payments outside of Ebay ? Paypal, to an address ? Also if you could reply to the last email I've sent you.- Von Soundcard

I am also interested in thicker wire (smaller AWG) for DIY, either OCC Copper (Scorpion ?) or SP-OCC Copper (Viper ?). @Frank, when you have time, send me a PM in response to the one I wrote you last week.- Von Soundcard

Quote: So SPC are as bright or more than Silver ? This would also mean they have the same emphasis (or more) on highs as Silver ? I'm interested in this, maybe others who have had different types of cable / wire to compare can post their impressions.- Von Soundcard

How do Silver Plated Copper cables sound in comparison to simple Copper or Silver cables ? Are they right in the middle, closer to one than the other, or... ?- Von Soundcard

That is interesting. Not that I doubt it, but the DAC was operated using the KS or WASAPI driver modes in a player that recognises them (like foobar), right ? Just checking- Von Soundcard

Quote: What about Silver Plated Copper ? Anyone tried that for USB ? By the way, can you say what type of USB DAC did you try those aftermarket USB cables on ? I am interested if there are clear differences between cables on async DACs with dedicated drivers.- Von Soundcard

Audio-gd NFB-10
Thanks for the info. BTW I'm not sure if I'm reading this right: are the line preamp outputs on the 10.x the same as the DAC outputs ? That is does the volume also control the DAC outputs (RCA / XLR) ? If so is there an operating mode for "pure DAC" and one for "DAC + line preamp" or are...- Von Soundcard

Anyway, how good is the amp section on the NFB-10 ? Compared to other SS 100$ amps on the market... Little Dot I ? I have no idea what SS amps are competitive since I mostly have tube gear for headphones, but the idea is how good is the amp section on the NFB-10 for the money ?- Von Soundcard

Audio-gd NFB-10
Concerning the DAC section of this model, is it identical to the 17.2 (or 32) ? Do they sound the same as a balanced DAC ? Or are there some differences, compromises due to the dual function of the 10.32 ? For example, the 10.32 page does not mention Class A sources while the 17.32...- Von Soundcard

Musical Fidelity M1 DAC - Any Impressions?
Does anyone know how this compares to similarly priced DACs from Audio-gd ? Such as NFB-17.2 or NFB-10.2, or perhaps NFB-2.2 / NFB-3.2 (last two single ended) ?- Von Soundcard

Yulong Sabre D18 thread: reviews, impressions, discussion (full review added 2/5)
Does this require drivers for the asynchronous USB transfer to work from the PC ? If so are they made by the designer or third party ? Stability issues ? Edit: Whoops, I looked at the D100, saw both had async and deduced this had to have usb as well :)- Von Soundcard

Can anybody confirm that these are the "best" Amperex 6922 tubes?
Does anyone know how do the Amperex made in the '70s in Holland sound compared to other popular Amperex Holland made in the sixties (and even fifties), such as the Orange Globe disc getters or the usual Bugle Boys ?- Von Soundcard
