Sony EX1000 Review and Impressions Thread (with comparisons to FX700, GR10 and e-Q5)
For those who are looking for a more inexpensive adapter + cable combo: Just received these, and they work like a charm. Cost me 45€ in total, including shipping. Not 100% flush, but they do the job. Just needs a hefty cable alongside it.- FUYU

Maybe Saturn? The seismic oscillations inside Saturn produce visible wave patterns in the rings, kinda like bass (see GIF). Naming scheme can be extended, doesn't sound too outlandish...- FUYU

They are certainly worth taking a look at. Even with all the fakes floating around, for <10$ this is a risk worth taking. The cable sucks, the build is anemic, but the sound is stellar. I'm going to try and get some more just to mod them into something more useable for everyday life. EDIT: Here...- FUYU

I agree. They are very competent in all areas. Soundstage is good, though they have an outstanding ability to seperate instruments. Very coherent sounding, maybe only lacking in some treble extention. For 5-10$? Unbeatable.- FUYU

Chinese / Asian Brand IEM Info Thread
Guess this is the best bet for one looking for "authentic" MH755s. 3$ per earphone is well worth the risk, atleast in comparision to those 10$ pairs which are on ebay. I'm going to buy 3 or 4 of them and see what variance there is. Even If they turn out to be fakes (or just terrible), tearing...- FUYU

crinacle's IEM Ranking List
Agreed. Most of the weight is distributed across not the shell, but the cable hook. It almost floats by your ear, which is comfortable, although fools you in believing that you have achieved an ideal seal. IMO, the EX1000 (similar to the Etymotic) really requires to be inserted as deep as...- FUYU

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread
Much thanks. Looks like a "fairly balanced" Diffuse-Field curve with some extra sub-bass and a 6kHz peak. I'd love a filter which measures Etymotic-like with extra sub-bass. Nothing that extra EQ can't fix.- FUYU

Trrs vs Single End on CIEMs
IMO, TRRS does nothing in itself. What really matters is the implementation inside the your AMP/DAC. You really have to look at specifications and measurements (like Output power, THD, Noise levels, jitter, etc.). However if you still want to change, you'll need a unit which has a dedicated...- FUYU

Another quesiton for Forrest. Judging by the pictures, it does seem like the newer FLC8n/d have slighly thicker shells. Have you made these changes to improve on isolation? 1 Dynamic Driver + 4 Balanced Armatures, afaik.- FUYU

FLC Technology FLC8 and FLC8s Impressions Thread
From my experience, balanced does absolutely nothing audibily. The changes are mostly because of the extra power the unit provides. Headroom is nice and all, but with the super-low impedance of the FLC8s, this is something which barely matters. However, the one thing I'd keep an eye on is output...- FUYU
