WaveTheory was the ONLY honest reviewer of this product. It really sounds amazing with simple music, only with a few instruments or vocal. It is great for jazz or blues for example. But when some more complex music comes on - boom, the whole thing falls apart. Dynamics and details disappear...

Not a huge succes, I assume... DACs come and go this days, it was just not interesting enough for most people. Too bad because I want to sell my unit (I'm not so satisfied, want to upgrade) but with this reputation it won't be easy :(

Does D1SE have channel balance setting in the menu?

What do you guys think, is this thing relevant in 2024? I'm searching for an excellent quality headphone amp with channel balance control, and there's not too many... To tell the truth only Violetric V550 comes to mind besides this one.

I'd go for any Sabre chip based one. Model depends on your budget, but D70 Pro Sabre is an obvious choice.
