Pros: Comfortable, comes with a pouch.
Cons: open back
The HD238 seems like a very underrated headphone IMO. I haven't heard many people talking about these cans. Personally I think they are worth the $50 my dad paid for them. The sound signature is rather warm and dark, which is very pleasant to listen to at loud volumes IMO. The soundstage on these are not very big but for $50 I really can't complain. These are not so good with classical music but sounds very nice with EDM. The earpads on these don't seem to be replaceable but they are very soft and comfortable. The build feels a little cheap but they won't snap on my head or anything. I find these cans very comfortable, I wore these non-stop for 3 hours and I haven't experienced any bit of discomfort. Overall, these cans are great.

they do sound great, but be careful with the cable, an jack. I would have kept them if i was into recabling when they broke... I would like to get another pair and recable them one day.

The stock cable is way to fragile, and the stock jack is stupidly designed.

Dang, I need to write a review for these soon too.
I would like to add a correction to the review, the earpads are removable. The base of the removable earpads have a sort of hard plastic outer rim that are held in place by slots on the headphone's earpad chassis. It takes a twist/pull to take them off. Be careful when taking them off though, if you crack the brittle plastic outer rim on the earpad, it ruins the integrity of how well it stays in the slots (just from my personal experience....).
I definitely agree with you on the warm/dark sound signature though.
As randomkid mentioned, be careful with the cord and jack, the cord is really, really thin and there is no strain relief on the jack.

Pros: LOTS of accessories, metal housing, Monster Cable brand name.
Cons: Very hard to find the perfect fit, microphonic cable
This is my first time using a pair of decent IEMs, I have to say, I am not disappointed.

Fit : This is the turbine's worst aspect. I have rather small ear canals and used the smallest round tips it came with, it was perfectly fine, but the smallest tri-flange tip refused to go inside my ear canal and I am stuck with only one pair of usable tips.

Build: The turbine's build quality is not impressive but it is not bad either. I'd say its above average. The cable is thick, but not so thick that some one could accidentally choke you by pulling it. The Y section was ok and does what is its supposed to do, which is pretty much nothing. The housing is made some kind of metal and definitely beats the cheap plastic you normally see on cheap earbuds.

Sound: The bass on the turbines extends very well, I currently don't have a good amp on my macbook so I can't test exactly how low it extends but it should be lower than 35hz. The turbines are not the most analytical IEMs ever, but you can hear everything in your recording. The bass quantity is enough to satisfy most basshead but for the most hardcore bassheads out there, I'd suggest checking out the Hippo VB, some bassheads think they have too much bass. They can be used for Classical music but they definitely not the best choice for Classical listeners, the signature for the turbines is really meanr for Hip-Hop or EDM. The soundstage on the turbines are ok compared to my Ultrasone PRO550, not as good, but not bad either.

Conclusion: If you are looking for a basshead IEM, these are definitely worth $100 IMO

Pros: Detachable cables, plastic seems tough, rugged case, GREAT soundstage, sexy
Cons: not the most comfortable cans ever, pads can get hot, was expecting more bass
I bought these as my entry to higher end audio on my birthday. I guess I should have bought the HFI-580 instead because they don't have as much bass I was expecting. (saving up for a PRO900 should fix that) The soundstage on these are great, I thought it was my mum calling me during the demo CD where they had some background speech playing. The cans do not clamp my head hard enough, and the size of my head is considered to be above average. I can feel the headband moving slightly when I'm moving my head. These cans are very sexy although they are pretty big. The cable included is gold plated and very thick, I'm sure I can use the wires to strangle someone if necessary (not that I plan to). I will put up a more detailed review with photos on the weekends Never mind I no longer have the time for that

I 100% agree with your review!!! Everything I want to talk about is in your review so I have nothing more to add..

1. These headphones are quite loose, do not clamp my head hard enough. I found that this is the worst thing about these headphones. Worse bass, sound leakage because of it.. I found this very disappointing because they have a much better sound if the headband is just a little bit tighter.
2. They are quite uncomfortable, make my neck tired very fast, I also sweat a lot from it too, but I don't know if this is because of the weight or the suffocating ear pads/headband pads.
3. The amount of bass is not what I expected from a pair of DJ headphones. My favourite tracks to test bass are Aalto - 5 (Original Mix), Paul Keeley - Disco Belle and some of Andy Moor's works. These headphones cannot reproduce the "electro" feeling of these basslines without EQ.

I disagree a little. The sound is amazing, and the headband is tight enough. I think that I would not want it any tighter.

Pros: free, light, minimalistic, soft cable
Cons: lasts for about 7 month, not exactly mind blowing
These are not going to make you stand out in the crowd or have a non-audiophile teen laugh at your "lame, not by dr dre *insert audiophile headphone here ", but nor do they have eargasmic sound. You get what you paid for, which is nothing.

7 months? I must have the worst luck in the world because I used to have to replace these things every month. One of the earphones would just stop working out of nowhere every single time.

"A wise man will spend neither too much nor too little." There are many things you could offer to give me for free that I would respectfully decline, these being one of them. There is, no doubt, a value to them as many who don't care about the quality of the sound they listen to are perfectly happy to have a free set of earbuds and not have to think about it. I can't imagine said people would be looking for advice on head-fi. If you are looking for advice on head-fi, quite clearly you are not satisfied with your freebie earbuds, and should head-fi do well by you, they should soon have no value for you.

Pros: remote control
Cons: The cable is too stiff, horrible sound quality, doesn't stay in the ear
Got them free with the HTC legend, the earphones are intended for speech only. ibuds would blow these away in terms of SQ. The cables are very stiff and uncomfortable for use
