We're really enjoying the MOG unlimited streaming account. It's a great way to listen to and discover new music. Now, my wife is wanting to get a portable player that she can use at work since her company now blocks all streaming services. She would like to have the ability to use the MOG Android app so she could load up the player with new music she wants to listen to in addition to our regular library of music. We have a 7-year old iRiver HP120, which is great, but doesn't have MOG capability.

Here's what I think she needs:

  1. Android-based player with good internal storage and/or SD card slot.
  2. Good quality output for high bitrate MP3 (320) and FLAC files.
  3. Decent enough amp to drive basic IEM's (she has some MEElectronics A151's)
  4. "Budget Friendly", ideally under $300, used would be OK

What suggestions do you guys have?

Does it have to be Android? I do exactly that with my Touch 4G. You can get a refurb 64gb for around $300.

No, I guess it doesn't absolutely need to be Android, but it would be nice. We both use Google quite a bit so it would be nice to continue that. That, and I'm not a huge fan of iTunes. I guess it will come down to whether we really need to have MOG on the player. For now she's using the iRiver H120 which does a decent job.
