The BT-W5 is quite expensive and the RWA-359 seems to be exclusively listed on Russian shops, I doubt I can get that in the EU. Maybe you know of any decent budget dongles sold on Aliexpress or elsewhere?

I'm not good in that. I stopped on Intel AX210 WiFi/BT card, and its BT is compatible with the alternative A2DP Driver.
There is also RTL8761B based devices but it have to check the specific device to work with alternative A2DP Driver.
A month!?! I think it said 1-2 weeks to me. I'm tempted to try it but I'll wait just a little longer. Waiting for the Supermix 4 IEMs to come out, and then I'll decide if those are for me, and splurge on a wireless solution for whatever I get.
Yeah, just reread it. Wish I had known this first before ordered my AK3040 pro max. Hopefully MTW4 firmware update will fix that.
My frustration has led me to order the FMA120 as a replacement already.
Returned both AK3040 pro max and MTW4. Now have the FMA120 attached to phones and DAPs outputting to Nura Tru Pro. Wow...what impressive Apt X lossles sound quality!

I just got myself a Denon perl pro to replace MTW4 (thanks for nothing sennheiser)
Hopefully my FMA120 will arrive sooner rather than later, it's been a month already.
No. While aptX Lite is just SBC with different constants, aptX Lossless (aka aptX Adaptive R2.2 or R3) requires special hardware support (QHS) and is also proprietary.
having KB8P, KB9P, BT-W5, Eppfun ak3040pro max, and AYINO MR250.
currently using Eppfun AK3040PRO Max and Ayino MR250 giving me the best result.
Ayino MR250 confirmed with wireless 24bit / 96khz with decent call support (auto use mic if headset)
while Eppfun AK3040 PRO MAX has best sound quality, with weird call support (need to manual double click the button to use the mic of headset but the button often not responsive.)
I don't know what they fixed, but I've been in contact with their support and it seems that they listen to feedback and try to solve things. So you might want to contact them if you are having problems with the dongle.
Set up a latency test on this Chinese nameless one. Not only does it sound better than the Pyle in light testing immediately on my Focal Bathys, here is the latency unless I did something wrong. The Behringer UCA202 transmits optical to the 2.4ghz transmitter, and then the receiver goes from 3.5mm to RCA in one channel. The top channel is the output looped back to the input. The bottom is the signal through the transmitter/receiver after it comes back to the Behringer. My first time doing this so might have done something wrong. At around 25 ms latency which is what you might get from Aptx lite, this makes bluetooth useless. This is what they promise in low latency "gaming mode". 16khz lc3 sounds terrible unless the aptx lite codec itself somehow pulls ahead.

Been having an issue with the Pro Max. When using Aptx Lossless, sometimes the dongle randomly stops playing audio. Seems to only happen when using it on my phone and works fine on any other devices. Hopefully this update fixes it
