Of xourse, there are distinct advantages to Bluetooth 5.0 vs 4.2. I always thought this write up from Audio 46 made some great points about audio use of Bluetooth 4.2 vs 5 and when it cones to audio playback, there isn't much advantage, especially using LDAC or aptX HD.

And that was for 5.0 of 2019, not the most current 5.3, which seems to me to be a 3 points later version.

I think we should permanently abandon any thoughts of 5.0 or later, and just go back to the 4.0 of the original Kann.

I did see you ask this question multiple times today. I am not sure. I honestly forgot to confirm before the announcement. I asked, but since it is the middle of the night in Korea before a weekend, I will not have an answer for you before the team returns to the office Monday morning. The OP is referring to the Apple Music streaming service which supports hi-res audio playback up to 24/192. I think you are referring to AAC files purchased from iTunes, hence the confusion.

It's the official name of Bluetooth send/receive function as defined by the Bluetooth SIG group.

I've always thought it was confusing as most people have no idea that is what it is offically called in the tech specs.

Curious though, the KANN Series is all about double the output of other AK player lines for high demanding headphones. How many people are buying KANN vs other players to use Bluetooth headphones and TWS earbuds vs full sized headphones/more demanding IEMs?

That's right, the entire Kann series has always been aimed at customers who were looking for greater output power, but also for versatility and convenience because these are DAPs and not stationary devices:

3. Kann Alpha - BT v5.0
2. Kann Max - BT v5.0
1.Kann Ultra - BT v4.2 ???- the latest model goes backwards in development
and where is the consistency, what has changed in the reception and perception of this
groups of listeners over the years

3.SE 180 - BT v5.0
3.SR 35 - BT v5.0

Do I reach for TWS headphones - of course, sometimes
I buy DAPs for this purpose, I use them with a whole range of headphones and I can have a DAP with me almost everywhere.
Let's not focus only on listening on TWS, but also on transmission from and to DAP and devices via BT, and here BT v4.2
- it has nothing to do with comfort and quality, no battery saving at the end of 2023 - BT v5.x is it's just standard.

I know where Jason is trying to go with this, but what if the prior 2 year old Ferrari you owned had a much better off-road capability, which a number of folks might need in some cases, (and BT use is much more frequent than off-road Ferrari use) but this one doesn't, for no good reason, and actually has the capability of the one from 3 generations ago?

My DX320 has 5.0 Bluetooth so its my Sony 1MA2 and my Fiio m11 plus Ltd.

I do used iems over ear head phones but I also used my ifi go pods for wireless or Focal Bathys.
