You can do this. Did it this morning. Easy walk, a little over half a mile.

Just thought of something to add before providing this guidance: walking even a half-mile with any semblance of "typical luggage" might make a difference. I'm a long-time business traveler who's developed ninja-like packing skills so I carry very little with me, so YMMV based on that. But otherwise, it's a very easy walk especially on nice weather days. I've walked to Marriott Irvine from John Wayne for the last few years in fact. After sitting in a cramped airport seat for several hours, I truly don't mind stretching my legs and doing the walk. Hope that clarifies.
Thanks for the advice. I'm flying back, same day, so no baggage at all. Google maps' walking directions, between John Wayne and Irvine Marriot, has me going the long way around (2 miles). Is there a shortcut? I can walk 2 miles, no problem; just wondering for my return walk, when I go catch my evening flight.

Is anyone walking (or has already walked) from John Wayne Airport to the hotel? Is it possible? Or, is it better to grab a cab, uber, shuttle? I know it might rain, but I'll bring my umbrella.
D
Hotel shuttle is super easy. Runs from 5 am to 11 pm and come every half hour.

I love the new format. please lean in to that more. I didn't hate the old format, but in my opinion, this is so much better in every way.
Can't make it to SoCal, but looking forward to Dallas in 6 weeks.
