Hi!

IEM crisis is knocking softly on my door (again), and I'll try to make this as short as possible.

My PL50s are starting to fail on me and therefore I need a new pair of IEMs. Actually, I want two pairs. One for workout and one for mobility use when traveling. I'm not going to do the same mistake I've always done: Buy one pair of IEMs and use them for running AND for traveling/home use.

IEMs I've owned in the past:

  1. Shure E2c (two pairs, both damaged due to rotten cords)
  2. Jays D-Jays (two pairs, one "used up", other one lost)
  3. Sound Magic (PL50) (Left channel periodically scratches)

Source: Sansa Clip, iRiver Clix 2

AMP/DAC (home use only): FiiO E7

Headphones for home use: Alessandro MS1i, JVC RX900

So, I've cooked it down to 10 IEMs but I'm not sure which two to go for:

Here's the list:

  1. Brainwavz M2
  2. Brainwavz M3
  3. Brainwavz B2
  4. HifiMan RE-ZERO (little concerned about build quality)
  5. Jays D-jays
  6. MEElectronics M6
  7. Phonak 012
  8. Phonak 11x
  9. SoundMagic E30
  10. Vsonic GR07

What I demand:

-Running/Exercise: Good seal, good/solid build quality, easy driven, over the ear, sound quality above average, compatible with Shure olives is a plus.

-Travel/home use: Above average seal, good build quality, good/great sound quality, compatible with Shure olives is a plus.

If I had to pick two it would probably be B2/M3 for "on the go" and E30 for running/work out.

Any tips?

Thank you in advance.

I will recommend the GR07 for Running/exercise and EX600 for travel/home use.

Thanks for the reply!

Wouldn't the GR07 be a waste of great IEMs to be used for exercise alone? I know that the build quality is great but I don't need super sound quality when working out. In fact, a better sound isolation would be preferable.

As for the EX600. Well, there's a reason why I haven't included it on my list. It's too expensive for my budget.
