CustomArt FIBAE Impressions Thread

If you read back through the thread Piotrus has said that it's a 7-8 turn around for most builds atm anyway due to various things.

Have fun choosing!

Yea I saw many people dying to get their hands on their Fibaes haha
I'm guessing I will join them after the next ME drop!

Quick question @TokyoEvilBird ; when you took impressions at E-Earphone, did they take them with jaw closed or open?
I heard that E-Earphone normally takes them with jaw closed but noticed that CustomArt requires a jaw open impression.
Will bring a bite block of some sort if they likely won't have one at E-Earphone.

I take them with open jaw (due to the requirements of my CIEM’s). The specialist will ask you to fill in a form and will ask you which CIEM you are getting and give you advice on open jaw or closed jaw. They do check the inside of your ears first for debris or any other abnormality. They have the normal styrofoam bite block or a chopstick, depending on the CIEM and the size of your ear cannal. I got mine in styrofoam for a Cosmic Ear and a chopstick for UERR and a Westone.

In the end, follow Custom Art’s requirement for the open jaw. The specialist should know that since E-earphone stock Custom Art products.

Thank you for the input!
I will probably use the styrofoam bite block since CustomArt requires around 2.5cm open jaw.

Ah, further expansion of the design options! Really wish I was the artistic type so that I could create the exact design I want haha
Yea I will discuss with Piotr directly if I have any special design requests since it seems customization of the ME is done at checkout.

I see, so you have other special designs other than the time-machine and metallic face plate! Thanks, will likely contact you once I decide on a CIEM and/or decide to go with a special design.

Noted on the regular lineup, I was actually curious as to whether it is possible to do a direct order even though E-Earphone is a local shop.
They have CustomArt listed as a 2 month wait from receiving impressions to finish.
You can leave the design to our team just give us some directions - some of the best designs were created that way.
Please check our facebook or instagram galleries @thecustomart for inspirations

current turnaround would be within that time frame indeed.

That sounds great! I will go through the galleries and see if any of them pique my interest, so many on this thread alone look great though so will be very difficult to decide!

@piotrus-g not looking to buy anything, i've already made major purchase early this year, but when will you release a new flagship?

(also, i wanna ask you about something i heard was classified, not much info on it online either (just curious))

I don't really have a reply for you at the moment.
Last year my answer was that it was "a year away" now I would answer pretty much the same. I haven't started any work on it, except maybe just some initial thoughts about the sound signature and some milestones I want to hit, but other than that I haven't sat down to it yet.

Sounds like me with my reviews. :D

when's your next review?

The Unique Melody Mason V3 is nearing completion, and after that will be the Warbler Prelude. The Jomo Haka and the Sennheiser IE800S are fighting for #3. Then, who knows? Maybe my silicone-reshelled Harmony 8.2 might make it in there somewhere.

I like your reasoning.
People clearly don't get that design in audio is about choosing a certain signature that may (or not) please customers, and build around it with a certain budget in mind to allow for proper build, ergonomy and comfort.
I always cringe when I see the word "flagship".
This word has become popular thanks to the smartphone world, to justify huge price leaps every year with very little actual innovation and poor design (= simple additive design).
It is just there to justify insanely fast development/launch timelines (for the sake of selling moaaaaarrrrrrrr) that leave no place for significant innovation.

Taking your time is for me a good sign.
What's the point of a new flagship every year if it brings nothing actually different ?
Thankfully you haven't followed the craziness/greediness of certain companies... like releasing 6+ new $2500-3000 IEMs at once (I won't give names, but this is so ridiculous to think that this is nothing else than easy cash grabing from gullible/compulsive audiophiles).
