I wonder if the DZ will work on my A&K SP3000? If they do, then I'll definitely go for them.
At 50 Ohms that seems a but doubtful, but who knows. I think the MR was designed for compatibility with portable devices.

FWIW, I found in practice that the MR wasn’t as easy to drive as they claim.

I definitely have to crank my V2s much higher than even some of my 300-ohm dynamics.

It's generally isolated to r/headphones. A large group there puts a heavy emphasis on price/performance and generally anything beyond a Quadlix 5k with an HD600 is severely scrutinized. It's not all like that though. Especially if you already have the equipment and are sharing well thought out impressions.
It’s true that something like the 6XX can be obtained for less than $250, but IMO it requires something like the Bottlehead Crack (for another $500-600) to make it something truly spectacular.

That’s not far off from what I paid for my Diana V2’s second-hand, which I actually find sounds just as good from my $200 Schiit Asgard 3 as it does from any of my more expensive amplifiers. And the Diana’s still do things that none of my other (much more expensive) headphones have been able to do.

Isn't there any discounted offer for pre-sale of the DZ?

I tried a couple codes, but they didn’t work. :frowning2:

I definitely can’t afford these unless I sell my E3 and Empy II..

What's with all the hate for Abyss / Diana DZ on Reddit? Did I miss something and all of a sudden Abyss is "uncool"?
Or is /r/headphones just full of gamer-audiophiles with <$250 budget?
there is a large contingent of people who revel in being reverse snobs...mocking and looking their nose down at anything that costs more than a few hundred dollars...take 10 minutes and look at the ASR website...it is kind of strange to be honest...these people will swear all DAC's and amps sound the same and basically all HP's should adhere to the same sound signature and oh by the way you are a chump if you buy an expensive piece of equipment

With the MRs I had them left in my basket for 24 hours and was sent a £300 discount code. No idea if its possible with the DZ.

Probably not possible, since it’s a pre-order and probably in high demand at least initially.

According to Joe, it’s easier to drive than the TC but harder to drive than the MR.

Very curious how resolving and how far scaling these actually are. I enjoyed my DianaTCs a lot, but they definitely lost that game to Susvara and one had to go.
