So I have been enjoying my Westone 3's for several years. I use them all the time at the gym out of an iPod. Always enjoyed them.
And then, something happened. I bought a pair of Ultrasone Ed 8's and began listening to them a lot at home. I listen to them thru my Cary 300 and for me it is audio heaven. I even plug them into my iPod at home when I'm moving around and they sound fantastic. So I guess my ears are getting spoiled by the Ultrasones.
Tonight I went to the gym for the first time since getting the Ultrasones. I put my Westone 3's on and started listening to my usual mix of rock, electronic, metal, etc. Any suddenly the IEM's were very dissatisfying. They sounded compressed, boxy, lifeless. It's kinda funny but it kinda sucks too.
I know not that many people have Edition 8's or 9's and there are some people that really don't like them but they really do it for me. Can anyone recommend an IEM with a similar sonic signature? I think I need to upgrade the Westone 3's.
