Can't believe there's so much bagging on General Electric. It's the first company I work in when I started my working life in IT.
Its voluntary transformation during the 1980s from engineering titan to financial force / flop earned it plaudits on Wall Street but scorn elsewhere. When the financial sheen wore off, GE was an anaemic version of itself. Ejected from Dow Jones Industrial Average in June of 2018 after over one hundred & ten years there.

The changing of the times.... unfortunately. Rise and fall of big corporations.

A micro / specific example of Schumpeter’s notion of the “creative destruction” of capitalism.

So you went transformer-less?? 🤣 :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:
You mean transformers loaded 😀

What you see there are 2 x output transformers behind the 300b tubes. In front of it are the Interstage transformers replacing caps. Power transformer at the left corner and 2 chokes for noise suppression in front of it. Bias will be fixed and can be adjusted as certain brand of 300b tubes have variations.

So 7 irons to 5 tubes. 🤗

Voice activation !
Great idea! The only burr would be that for voice directed “off”, could you have music with vocals on?

Lol let’s not change the course of destiny here. I have enough of Siri in the car. She’s getting on my nerves by saying ‘I don’t understand what you are saying’. 😀

In the meantime I got Eric to reverse a set of screws on the power transformer because I want the ends pointed out the other way. That’s my OCD.... kicking in high gear.

UntilThen: "Bcowen, turn the amp on!"
Bcowen: "Yessir!"
I'm afraid that won't bode well. He's going to drive the cart into the lake again.

No update from Eric last night. He must be busy drilling, mounting, soldering and doing his point to point wiring. I do know that the Genalex Gold Lion PX300b tubes have been safely delivered to him and his comment was that it's playing and singing well in another of his 300b amp.

I guess that at ~300USD / pair - that is as inexpensive as it gets for 300B tubes?
Actually, just saw Psvane goes for less at 220USD / pair... hmmm....
@UntilThen did you consider the Psvane?

There has been good reviews for Genalex PX300B and it's supposed to be the best at anything less than $500. In any case, I got it for AUD$200 which is US$155 each. :) from

Psvane would have just cost me AUD$200 a pair from my amp builder.
