Eric McChanson Headphone Amp??

In spite of all the good power tubes I just rolled, this pair of RCA 6BX7gt as power tubes in UltimatE holds it head up well and compete with the best. A pair of 6BX7gt now cost US$38.45. This is where UltimatE really surprised me. An amp for nearly all tubes. :)

I use c3g as drivers because the high gain really suit Susvara.

Heath (Mullard) EZ81, Sylvania VT-107A, GEC ECC81 & Ken-Rad 6Y6G, running the GEC drivers now. Boy oh boy, if the "standard" GEC ECC81 sounds this good I can only imagine how wonderful the A2900 will be. This tube set sounds amazing with my Meze Elite as well as the Focal Utopia 2022 pictured below. Anyway, as we say here on head-fi: Pictures or it didn't happen!

Beautiful, just beautiful. Many here love their UltimatE. I sure do.

I can't remember Ken Rad 6Y6G sounding this good. C3g seems to lift up every power tubes. I have a stash of 6Y6G so should be enough to last a lifetime and more. :) No posting tomorrow. Will be out the whole day.

Bryant just told me he bought Svetlana KT88, Mullard EL34 double O getters, Tung Sol 6550 and Amperex EL34 metal base. All in one go. Way to go Bryant.

I have 6BX7GT tubes labeled RCA, Westinghouse, Philco and GE but all are made by GE and have the telltale white dots on the glass.
Any white dots on your RCA tubes?

They are GE but I have no problem with GE 6BX7gt. :) I'm no GE basher. :)

I was testing Eric's GE 6SL7gt silver plates the other day and it sounded great ! As good as my Brimar 6SL7gt.

Just checking - I have the same tubes. Actually, there are a number of excellent sounding GE tubes...
The point I wanted to make is that if you look for GE 6BX7 or relabeled GE tubes under different names you could spend considerably less on the same tube.

See my GE 6BL7gta tube in the days of Elise? I still have those same tubes today as well as that pair of Siemens c3g.

WOW , very impressive, hope he actually uses them though and not just hoards them all
There are far too many hoarders and braggers about what they paid for tubes in this world amongst other things . . . .they do cry the loudest when they break or lose them lol.

KT88 are gorgeous tubes. I am waiting patiently for the amp to arrive and trying these tubes out.

What are the neighbors going to say? - No headphone jack...
I'll bet that Eric knows Earle Weston; both are one man operations.
Yes Eric does know Earle but he told me they don’t converse much, both are far too busy building amps of various guises,
