I was on 1.0.1 and like you couldn't download 1.0.3 from their website. On the device, I did the online update to 1.0.2. Then it let me update to 1.0.3. In other words, can't go straight from 1.0.1 to 1.0.3.Well, the only update that skips me and lets me do it over Wi-Fi is version 1.0.2

FIIO Flagship all-in-one digital media streamer R9 Discussion & Impressions Thread
Hi, have you successfully upgraded?Good morning, I'm trying to download the link but it doesn't work and on R9 I don't get version 1.03 either, why doesn't it work?
If not, you can try downloading this firmware for local upgrade, the download link is -> fiio-file.fiio.net/R9-update-1.0.3.zip.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Local upgrade
Download the firmware from this website and copy it to the machine's built-in storage
or TF card. Enter from Technical Support, click Firmware Upgrade--Local Upgrade,
find the downloaded upgrade firmware package, and click to upgrade.
Notice:
(1) There is no need to decompress the firmware package;
(2) If the upgrade occurs in factory mode and the firmware cannot be detected,
the firmware may be damaged. Press the power button to confirm, select reboot,
and then re-download the firmware and copy it to the machine before upgrading.
Stay updated on FiiO at their sponsor profile on Head-Fi.

I think Fiio R9 is Powerful on Paper. But Sadly...
I just brought AKG K1000, need to turn Max to have enough Volume..
Now need to Find another AMP to Drive it.

These headphones are very tight, you need a very powerful amplifier that can drive these headphones))I think Fiio R9 is Powerful on Paper. But Sadly...

I have a HE-1000SE and R9 handle them great.

This has come back for me even though it appeared to have been sorted by the latest FW release. Anybody else?It was mentioned several weeks ago that there was a problem with songs stuttering/dropping out in the first few seconds/last few seconds when "All to DSD" is selected. Guess we are still waiting for a fix @FiiO ??
It should be coincidental, but tonight was the first time I have used the R9 in a couple of weeks.
I have the same problem even not in DSD.This has come back for me even though it appeared to have been sorted by the latest FW release. Anybody else?

Can anyone comment on the SQ quality of the R7 vs R9 from their Digital outputs(SPDIF/USB)? Do they use the same Oscillators? Is the R9 worth the upgrade if using it as a digital transport only?

Has anyone used PowerAmp app with R9 and can use hires audio out settings? I am not sure if it's Android issues or issue with R9. But I am not able to set HiRes output form R9 RCA out. It's restricted to native Android output.
