At the end of this video it shows a white FT3, I wonder if that's going to be a thing.

It is, if you open their website and check https://fiio.com/r7, then scroll down. There are images of white R7 and white ft3. I think it makes a lot of sense in the major desktop hifi circle because black/white are pretty dominating in terms of color theming. I already ordered my black ft3 but will watch out for the official announcement of white color series. It also reminds of the ATH M50 trend in the early days and then the white and brown versions.

What drives a 350 ohm can? Will my LittleDot Mark III SE drive them well? (This is a different amp than the Mark III—a hybrid.)

From the FiiO website, sensitivity is 102 dB/V.

For a 350 ohm headphone, this translates to 97 dB/mW.

mW dB
1 97
2 100
4 103
8 106
16 109
32 112
64 115
128 118
256 121
512 124

So you can see here how much power you need according to the desired maximum sound level.

They arrived!

First impressions are that despite all the talk of bass, they aren't dark!

Actually have quite a nice vibrant treble, though have been listening to the lcd 2c quite a bit recently so that may be influencing things. Guessing on a slight V shape for now.

Quite an intimate soundstage but without being congested, lots of depth, kind of like a t5p but obviously without the closed back wonkiness (the angled drivers likely doing their job).

Also they do require quite a bit of power! The hd800 and lcd 2c do just fine on low gain with the fiio k7 but I find I need high gain with these on the balanced port.

Please don’t judge me, but I don’t know how that translates to how well it would drive the headphones.

....

Kinda dealbreaker for me.
