I know this is what everyone wants to see most, so I'll just post it:

The tubes are screaming, "Let us out!"

And so much more dangerous without the cage.... heh

I remember when I was groping for the pot, but I put my fingers around a tube

*burn!!!*

Well ok, I was lucky that they weren't up to their max temp at the time...

I agree.

I've been toying with making an inverted "U" shaped brass or gold plated rail and installing it in front of the tubes as a "fence guard". Something similar to the earmax pro.

That black cast iron thing looks medieval.

Okay, this may be tantamount to sacrilege around here, but am I the only one who does not like the way the Orpheus amp looks? It reminds me of a retro sort of kitchen appliance or something. For some reason, every time I see a picture of it (especially looking at the center section of it), I'm reminded of the side panels of my Villaware toaster, but with a disco dance floor in front of it:

I'm sure it sounds unbelievably great -- and I would love to own one -- but am I the only one who'd likely not put the amp in the most visible location?

Yes, Jude, you probably are the only one.

Okay, imagine the amp, but like 100 times bigger. And where those front two tubes are, imagine instead the members of the band ABBA putting on a show. Can you see where I'm coming from now?

Mamma Mia!

Well, I have to admit that I DO get weird
fantasies when seeing an Orpheus (like getting one),
but rarely do those involve toasters... or ABBA.

Jude, once again you prove to see more than us
normal mortals...

Wow, what a weird coincidence....you're the first one to respond to my ABBA thingie....and you're from Waterloo. LOL! This is too funny!

(Why is it I think I should somehow feel embarrassed that I brought up ABBA?)

You needn't feel embarrassed, unless you are waiting for their reunion tour
