I adaped the EQ for the foobar graphic equalizer; sounds great!
You can download it here:

I just applied this myself and it's night and day on the bass. Thank you Brad. Never knew this was out there, It's going to ruin my iphone experience with them though until I figure out how to EQ the iphone. Listen to this before and after the EQ...night and day.

I noticed that with the BW Sheepskin pads the seal is so tight it creates a suction and slight pushes on the housings will mess with the sound. Minor annoyance.

I did little experiment and taped up velour section of the focuspads, and behold: Let there be sub bass!!!
So if i find full leather pads somewhere, how do i connect them in the Hifimans?

I had the same problem with my pair. First noticed it with the HM5 pleather - just tilting my head would make a click/crinkle noise. I could really feel pressure in my ear canals when I pressed on the cups. Chatted with somebody on another forum and he said the 400i aren't designed to pressure balance the front to back of the driver. Didn't feel any pressure with the velour or stock pads, but still had noises. HFM didn't know why this was happening - they didn't think driver flex was possible, but offered to replace mine under warranty. The new pair doesn't make any noises with the HM5 velours and I really don't plan on bothering with the pleather

There is a ring inside the pads you have now that come out and will insert inside these. Fair warning, you will ruin your stock pads by putting new ones in, but I've been running these since I got mine and they are much better imo.

Yeah, i really dont want to ruin stock pads on the process.

You can buy the rings from Hifiman.

I'd strongly suggest getting the round Brainwavz pads as they're a better fit.

I have a pair of those angled pads, and just looking at how much they have to stretch to make them round (using my hp150 baffles) I don't think the stock 400i rings would stand a chance before they got twisted into pretzels (I could be wrong)

I would buy straight from the Hifiman, but the postal costs are insane to Finland. Othervice i would order hifimans leatherpads. I believe, they work as well. Aint they all sealed too?

They work fine.. It takes a bit of stretching but the fake leather is forgiving

The rings don't get bent out of shape? I know using the plain oval pads, my 3d printed rings (I can't imagine the stock rings are more rigid) do bend slightly due to the tension - they flatten out once snapped in properly. The angles need to be stretched far more and i'd think put more pressure on the rings (regardless, I'm too chicken to try)
