I can't speak for the Audio Technica, although their headphones are said to be good in general, but I am really liking my L2's. As long as you realise that these are open back headphones - which means a wide soundstage, but also a lot of outdoor noise leaking in and music leaking out, I have no problem recommending them to you for indoor use at least. The AT's are labeled as portable, although they seem pretty big to me. Anyhow, I personally do not like headphones with non-detachable cables since I always break them...
I am working on a full review of the L2's, but that might take some time still.
The best advice I can give you though is to just try them out, if there is a store near you that lets you do that of course.
