Well done, I have put all my other source purchases on pause.
Can you please tell us more about the amp section, whether it would be possible to add an external Linear power supply to enhance the sound more.

edit: Please consider using full sized SD card instead of microSD.

iFi Audio better put it into gear and answer to these wonderful "transportable" audio devices that act as an upscale answer to the Micro iDSD BL. I believe they need to move into this space soon.

Output power? Presumably higher than highest available via DX220 amp modules (9Vrms on balanced outputs)? Matching 12Vrms of Kann Cube or exceeding?

I would assume that the power would be around Kann Cube or higher. Ibasso DX220 and Amp8 really have the power driving forces, and given the price tag + no modular design, the amp section must be very beefy. If Ibasso could fit in discrete module Amp8 on smaller brother dx200/220, the Max can only be better.

If heat is not an issue, may be permitting dsd1024 as well ? What about PCM 768khz too ? That would be priceless

Yes, that is what I am thinking. Glad I'm in no rush to sort a transportable solution for work, else I'd have picked up a Cube or DX228 already, but now there is another strong candidate in the mix that can potentially fill the particular gap I have.

I already grabbed DMP, but I am very curious about what this Max can do and will bring. I am a fan of DSD playback, and if this one can do DSD1024....It would blow my mind LOL!

It does have DC in, hinting for maybe for such capability. Ibasso gave us what we all have been asking for ever since HUGO came out. We all wanted to have a HUGO size device with a screen the same size as DX220 MAX.

Most laugh and thought no one would want it, Chord said it was too hard to get right.

I can't wait to see what will come after DX220 MAX, there will be alot of new competition all thanks to DMP-Z1 which gave birth to Quloos QA390 and MAX. Now I got to put a pause on QA390 purchase.

If they keep the same underpowered cpu, it's a fail, imo. Please be a snapdragon 425, or exynos. It's time to move off the rockchip cpus

And STORAGE. That may not be an issue when it's on one's desktop but if it's transportable one would not want to take their NAS with them. Can't be too hard to put 1tb on board and a couple slots can it?
