Does Kensei have support for ALAC? I asked because I have one in hand and it sounds great but out of Apple Music it does not change from a 44.1 to any other bitrate. Note that Tidal works perfectly on this front and the device notates the various bitrates along w MQA.

Not all albums are HiRes on Apple Music. Check the album or song label, it should be marked as Lossless which is 44.1, HiRes Lossless or Dolby for Spatial Audio. You will also need to change some settings in Music for it to download on the highest resolution. Also not all the songs in the album are HiRes even if the album is marked as HiRes

For example I have mine hooked to my iPhone, the album Aja from Steely Dan, the first song Black Cow lights up only the 44.1, but Deacon Blues and Peg are 192.
