I just think it could sell better than the big desktop sized offers if it has the same small footprint, good SQ features and some updates as mentioned removing the current constraints so one could use Upsampling in Audirvana, Roon HQPLAYER without bottlenecks.
Some built-in DCC could be another nice option but I guess increase size and price.

After factory reset, setting it up again, and updating firmware to the latest I can’t reproduce the issue anymore.

I’ll keep an eye on it for now.

Has anyone figured out how to keep Tidal Connect from disconnecting and stopping playback in the middle of a playlist or album?

This is my main use case and very frustrating that it doesn’t work right.
I have only had this issue randomly, I mostly use Roon and this doesn't happen.

I remember a long time ago I used to make sure any stored "queue" songs should be cleared for best tidal performance, but I will give Tidal Connect a go tomorrow for you and see what I get.

I had this problem which drove Tidal/IFI and ME-nutz!

Then I noted it was around 10 minutes every time. So a new Apple Mini M1 dropped the stream after the last song after 10 minutes span. Restart stream and music lasted about 10 minutes. Seemed like a computer issue.

Posted to Apple forums and some guy says go to System Settings and open Lock Screen. Reset to open all time (as newer computers can do that he said) but I put 1.5 hours hours. It would then play for 1.5 hours, then disconnect.

This has worked without fail for me.


Not sure why this happens as computer is on all the time for emails but the “screen locking” shuts down the Tidal Connect stream.

Hope this helps (as I was truly angry also).

Have you had any luck testing out Tidal Connect?

In my end I haven’t found any patterns just yet. Although at one point it got so bad playback would stop after only one song. After rebooting the ZS I was than able to get maybe a 1/2 hour before playback stopped again.

This makes me think it has something to do with queue management on the ZS itself. But it could also be compounded by possible issues with Tidal Connect.

Any thought? Only angle I can think of validating is whether the behaviour is limited to Tidal Playlists. That’s what I’ve been using mostly. I’ll see this afternoon if an entire album plays ok.

Any other ideas or guidance would be appreciated.

Playlists in general whether coming from Tidal (e.g. a suggested Trending Playlist or mix playlist from Tidals home tab) or one I created on my own. TBH I’m not certain about the latter but I’ll focus on this in my continued troubleshooting.

As it stands right now, playing an entire album on repeat, the issue hasn’t surfaced. We’ll see how many times I can listen to Muse’s 2nd law over the next few hours!

Just to get a head start I will put an album on repeat as well later tonight just to see what happens. In general I really never have these kinds of issues (Lucky I Guess).

So many times it comes down to a tiny network hiccup that a streamer fails at overcoming (any) where a computer may play right through (how I do not know).

Out of curiosity do you have any other streaming services, Spotify?
