So it is here, lightweight and bit piercing upper mid and highs out of the box with Mojo2 (all PEQ off)
Will let it burn first, @AuneAudio do you suggest burn in? How long?
Hi, to quickly reach ideal performance, we recommend playing music tracks with rich low frequencies for at least 24 hours for burn-in. Alternatively, you can also naturally use the AR5000 over an extended period of time for the desired effect.

Thanks for your reply. Do you have recommendation of any tracks or albums from international artists?

It is hard to recommend specific tracks, but you can consider instrumental music of bass, cello, drums or pipe organ. Or simply the music you like:) Hope that helps.

Hi,

Not a reply to your answer, but since you mention the Monndrop headphones, I would likle to know if someone has had the opportunity to listen to the AR5000 and compare them to the Moondrop Para. I think they're both in more or less the smae price range and the Monndrop Para is also something that seems to deserve some attention.

Regards.

Here are some of my thoughts on my Aune AR5000 which may be somewhat different than some of the things I have seen posted on Head-Fi. Let me say that I am 74 years old and of course don't have the high frequency hearing of some of the younger members here, so my experience may be less useful in that area. I purchased my AR5000 lightly used from a Head-Fi member recently, so I think they have had enough use to be broken in the 24 hours that Aune recommends.

I could really just recommend that anyone who wants a headphone that gives what I consider a very balanced and musical sound over the entire musical spectrum to stop wondering and just go ahead and order the AR5000. I hear no frequencies that are emphasized or weaker on this headphone. Bass response is not emphasized nor is it recessed; it just gives me what I consider to be truthful to what the music calls for. Midrange is extremely detailed, and it is easy to follow individual sounds as they stay separated from each other. I hear individual sounds on some of my test tracks that I haven't noticed before which is very impressive to me. I don't hear any problem at higher sound levels with things losing definition that I have seen mentioned here, which may be a source problem instead of a headphone problem. I will say that the high frequencies may be a little emphasized, but I noticed this to improve with break in. Maybe younger listeners may have a different experience with the high frequencies, but this older listener needs a little sparkle to balance out the highs.

One thing that really impresses me with the AR5000 is how alive and energetic it sounds. It seems to propel the music along and keeps things fun and energetic. I think it is because of the low distortion of the driver that everything sounds so fresh and alive. You won't be bored listening to this headphone. I won't bore you with a list of some of my current headphones, but some of them cost over a $1000 and are well regarded. The AR5000 keeps up with these phones and just has such a balanced and musical sound that I love listening to it.

For $299, the Aune AR5000 is, in my opinion, a gift to music lovers and is a bargain for the performance it delivers. I hope those of you who are looking for a balanced and musical sound will get a chance to experience it.

I've been looking at getting the AR5000 as I love the design, the reviews so far are good and it looks like there is a good chance that it'll be right up my ally.
But I want to get it with the AR3 cable which isn't listed on the EU store atm. When is it expected that the AR3 cable will become available on the EU store?

It's not direct answer (I didn't see AR3 in EU store), but I saw it in Aune official distributor in Poland (still EU ) store: https://audeos.pl/aune-ar3 for approx 70€. Site is only in PL lang, and I'm not sure if they send abbroad, but you may contact them and ask.

hmm is there any after market pads that can fit with these? and maybe guide how to remove the pads ?

would be nice if some pads with memory foam could fit this, to reduce the pressure for people with glasses

Aune AR5000.
We have Journeyed to the Texture of Sound.

Got these yesterday.
I will not put them on again.
They go back on Monday.
Very much unlistenable for me.
4/10

Oh dear AR5000. You have everything going for you. So pretty, so light, so nice, so repairable, so good, so cheap.. What is this sound shenanigans?
Unfixable listening fatigue that induces headache and tinnitus for me in less than 10min.
Multiple sessions, spanning 5, 10, 15mins, no more.

Always the same outcome - headache, tinnitus, extremely quick fatigue onset. According to FR provided by Aune - it does not appear to be too bad, however even heavy EQ in the highs region does not fix it. How is this possible? I assume it's earcup reflections or ringing frequencies, maybe more than one. *Gasp* :anguished: Maybe I have a non-QC compliant unit?
As for the very short sound signature review:

  • Bass extension is deep, when called for - oh boy these deliver. Nice.
  • Subbass is however weaker and not present as much as I'd like.
  • Soundstage is surprisingly large and instruments are way too much defined. Sometimes you get a feeling something is wrong but when you focus in - you realize it's actually placed somewhere on the stage! You did not expect that to happen! Mind is blown!
  • Mids are just right! Finest quality is vocals being nicely present and often unexpectedly standing out in the mix.
  • Very good tonality, enjoyable (as it can get with the fatigue) however sometimes some things that should be bright are dark and some dark things bright.
