I have a pair of Sennheiser MOMENTUM True Wireless 3, would these have far better ANC and call quality and also music over the in ears?
also, can you use these outside in light rain or anything like that

thanks

ANC is IMHO stronger than MTW3 because you get adaptive technology on top of a bigger physical barrier between yourself and the noise (the earcup). There is no significant IPX rating on M4W but a trip from the car to the front door in the rain is probably fine.

Reposting a question from the M3 thread, before this thread was created:

I wonder if the M4’s can be used in wired mode when turned off or empty battery? Utilizing a outboard DAC like the Audioquest Dragonflies?
Yes, they come with a cable for wired use and can be used without the active electronics on. I am positive everyone will enjoy the active features and sound best (especially with ANC on), but if you somehow run out of battery and still want to listen, the cable is there for ya (or if there's a situation where wireless is not permitted but those situations are few and far between nowadays). They're not too demanding impedance-wise in passive mode.

Yes by default they will probably add too much bass, but hopefully this can be easily corrected using the app.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised at the factory tuning in active mode. Fun and full but not an earthquaker at all. Hope you get to try them!

I thought the same thing until I put them on. Even though the legacy models look super cool I wouldn't go back. There's definitely function in the design. Better seal better sound better comfort. I feel strongly that the tour reviews will yield similar impressions, too.

Yes, ultimately that's what matters most. As more videos come out, I can see the earpads are different than previous versions, rounded inwards, and with that angle/gap at the back of the ear, as Bose or my PX7s. That is very comfy / less heat builds up. Can't wait to try M4s. If they're lighter, more comfortable and I will like the sound better, they might replace my PX7. I owned and loved M2s at their time, and I didn't like the M3s sound signature, so... we'll see.

Another nice review by this tonic guy here 😎

My fear that they have a bass heavy profile was based on measurements posted earlier in this thread and a review where the reviewer advised EQ. But this can be completely a non-issue if Sennhesier could just make it easy to switch the profile. The "high end sound tuning" button for the Momentum 3 allowed rtings.com to score it highest for "neutral sound" amongst all the ANC headphones of its generation, despite it certainly not being neutral out of the box.

A simple one-click button makes it convenient and hassle-free for classical and jazz music listeners to get the profile they want without messing around testing EQ settings and worrying if the EQ has enough bands. It also allows reviewers like rtings.com to say "yes they are neutral if you set this option". Please feed this back to Sennhesier if you can :)

Never owned another Momentum generation, but for the screenshots I've seen the app they ship with is limited to three bands right? That's such a bummer, would love to fine tune every band since its actually possible and probably fairly easy for Sennheiser to implement an app that allows it.

Do they sound the same wired (aux cable) and powered on as they do wireless?

When plugging them into an external amp like a Schiit Heresy, what's the best way to control the volume? I'd prefer to use the knob on the amp, but my understanding is that the headphone volume controls still work (unlike Sony). It would be acceptable if I could leave them at the same low-ish volume I use wireless, probably 30% in Windows, and that would carry over to wired/power on. Even better would be for the wireless and wired, powered on volumes to be remembered separately.
