[KA3/KA13] FIIO X JADEAUDIO USB DAC DONGLE
- Thread starter FiiO
- Start date
Couple of questions about the KA13:
- With desktop mode off, how is the power drain on a phone battery?
- Are the volume increments good for sensitive iems? (I've tried a few dongles where volume N is too low and volume N+1 is too high)
- Does it support inline mics? I think the answer is no (what a shame!).
- Any way to pause with hardware buttons?

2.Independent volume adjustment, can be very precise
3.Cannot support inline mics
4.Not pause buttons, has next music buttons

Thanks for the reply. I'll give this one a miss.
I bought KA13, there is no problem when using it with my Huawei tablet, but a problem arose when using it with my Huawei P30 phone. When I connect the USB DAC, the blue LED turns on, when the audio signal comes, it turns green and regardless of the music playing at 48khz, 96khz, 192khz, it always stays green. Fiio control software is installed on both of my devices, the problem persists with the latest firmware update from version 09, v15, how can I fix this?
What APP do you use to play music? You can try playing exclusively with FIIO Music first.I bought KA13, there is no problem when using it with my Huawei tablet, but a problem arose when using it with my Huawei P30 phone. It doesn't matter. The same problem persists in all of them. What APP do you use to play music? You can try playing exclusively with FIIO Music first.
Edit:
When I unplugged and plugged in the Fiio music application for the second time and approved the USB device, the problem was partially solved. The problem persists except for the Fiio music app.

Does anyone know could I use Fiio KA3 as DAC for Yamaha R-S202 speakers receiver. Yamaha has Line In 500mV sensitivity and 47kOhm impedance. Is it even technically possible and correct with some settings on KA3?

The KA13 supports SPDIF out with the right cable.Does anyone know could I use Fiio KA3 as DAC for Yamaha R-S202 speakers receiver. Yamaha has Line In 500mV sensitivity and 47kOhm impedance. Is it even technically possible and correct with some settings on KA3?

Anyone know if the exterior design is a homage to the late Van Halen guitar?

My guess is phase information can get messy so imaging and spatial separation could become unacceptable. If you listen to music with no staging information mixed into production, I suspect this phase sensitivity will not be important to you. I wonder if someone could do a test clip of the filters to show differences. Sharper roll off usually messes up the phase. I learned this from reading Thiel speaker design brochure. Unfortunately they killed Thiel and I have no proof.
I first heard about the Van Halen guitarAnyone know if the exterior design is a homage to the late Van Halen guitar?

Frankenstrat was very famous and he was recognized as the best electric guitar player since Jimi Hendrix. Now he is dead and nobody knows nothing.
@FiiO This review says:
> The power consumption of the FiiO KA13 was measured at 0.14A/0.76W when idling and 0.15A/0.77W while playing a 24bit/96kHz file with the FiiO FT3 (32Ω) at a loud but safe listening volume. This power consumption remains exactly the same in both working modes (desktop and non-desktop) with all kinds of loads (32Ω-300Ω) and at the loudest volume setting. So it gets pretty clear that the FiiO KA13 is always working at full power draw in both amplifier modes and even when idling.
If true, this surprises me. Is it correct? I was under the impression that turning desktop mode off would save power.
Will you be pushing firmware updates to make the KA13 more efficient for phone users? That power draw is about 10% of my phone's battery per hour.

I did the measurements and they are correct.as far as I am concerned.@FiiO This review says:
