nice to see a usb type C version of the amp, but I personally prefer battery powered, imo it sounded better than using an external battery pack.

Battery works very well for me, too. And let us be thankful 404/428 takes merely 4 batteries; newly released Bakoon HDA-5520MK2 takes a whopping *12.*

Been eying the 428 for sometime to backup for my aging Wagnus combo.
Caved in finally during my demo at SG CamJam.
Impressive amp with plenty of reserve.
Powerful, musical with crazy resolution.
It’s huge soundstage is jawing dropping good- outperforming my Wagnus combo.

But I can’t bring it home coz the 475 is still a prototype version which should be ready to deliver in mid of next month according to Masa San. We therefore made arrangement that he delivers directly to me next month between 24-27 Apr when I’m in JPN.

What are your thoughts about "battery rolling", any preferred brands/models?
For Mass Kobo, Enelop Pro is the way to go. You get a super incisive, dynamic presentation which is impactful yet rich. I haven't tried anything beyond an IfI Elite power supply, but since DC power is possible, maybe LPS could bring benefits.

The question is how happy you are with iPower Elite, and whether you're interested in changing your power delivery from switching to linear. Some folks like the former more and some fancy the latter, but your DC-powered components deserve a good PSU no matter its topology :)

To be honest, I'm not a fan of iFi products, and the Elite didn't change my mind. 👍

I hear you. Then trying out a LPSU is a highly recommended option here on HF and maybe you'll be more pleased with it. Either way, thanks for trying iPower Elite!

Yup all of my friends are using Enevlop Pro. Battery power is totally enough for IEMs. Zero noise floor from batteries.
