That's not the point. I don't care about the resolution itself. I just want them to deliver what was promised... Don't confuse things.
I think it's YOU that's confusing things..

If it's labeled as Lossless, you already get the maximum quality that you could wish for. Adding a "hi-res" sticker to a lossless signal does NOT change the signal or the file, or the quality at all.

I'm not confusing anything. It is only a charge in relation to the development of the streaming app and DAP FiiO software. Just it. The discussion is not about the Hi-Res sticker, marketing or resolution, but rather about what was promised by the companies responsible. It is up to the consumer to charge what was proposed.

then you should contact Apple, since it's apparent that their app is not delivering the Hi-Res sticker to you..

How did Head-Fi become such a cesspool for weirdos?! :scream_cat:

If I don't have different devices with different operating systems to correctly identify the source of the problem, there is no way to infer that the behavior is coming from Apple Music or the FiiO software. Note, I don't work as an Apple Music developer, much less as a FiiO developer.

As defined by Apple -

Apple Lossless is CD quality: 16 bit at 44.1 kHz (kilohertz), and goes up to 24 bit at 48 kHz

Apple Hi-Res Lossless: 24 bit at 192 kHz

Apple Lossless vs. Hi-Res Lossless

I have seen the quality of the bit-rate on songs change between the 2 - sometimes it has to do with licensing, other times it could be data transmission, region, etc.
I did not see anywhere that Apple guarantees Hi-res Lossless vs. Lossless in their delivery (in fact they state that support can vary by all of these factors) AND you might want to check the settings on the app itself as you can specify different bit-rate based on streaming vs. download - I have seen the quality settings change when the app is updated to lower bit rates simply as it reverts to the default settings, so you might check there as well...

I have already accessed the app's audio quality settings and selected the maximum (Hi-Res Lossless) on both Wi-Fi and mobile data. Additionally, I left the cache limit at maximum (5GB). Even using the FiiO M11S connected to my home's Wi-Fi, Apple Music reduces the resolution to "Lossless" every time. This is only resolved when I download the tracks. An iPhone user told me that the same thing happens to him, leading me to think that it is a problem with the Apple Music app itself.

Dear friend,

We tested in Apple music but did not reproduce the issue. As for the classical version, we could not locate the reason for the problem currently. You could use the Apple msuic instead of the classical version for help? Are you using apple music app? Or the classical one?

Best regards

Hi!

I want to know if anybody has the same issue. Everytime I go into Fiio Market, it keeps asking me to install Fiio Music, even if it's already done and has the latest version 3.2.1. Google Store also shows Fiio Music in the updates but can't upgrade it. Never had this issue before the last update. Thanks for your help!

Technically, the play market version is for android phones, not for specific FiiO players.
So, the best way to update the FiiO Music is to update via the application itself or download from the fiio's website and install manually:

I've put my M11s up for sale on eBay in case anyone is looking for a terrific offer. (used for less than 5 hours in total, looks brand new, 1 year warranty left, sale in Europe only)

It's a great device, but I had to realise that I simply don't need it and it would just end up collecting dust here.
Already losing 300 bucks from what I've paid if only one person puts a bid on it. :scream_cat:
