OK I finally had some time to do this test and no, the situation with IEMatch is even worse. Fundamentally IEMatch's attenuation sucks M12's current dry too soon. This happens both on High and Ultra setting. Bottomline: M12 + E5000 is a no-no.
@Questyle Would it be possible to release a firmware dedicated to activating high gain even with loads below 70ohm? It would be perfect for those, like me, who want to enjoy the M12 with headphones that need more current despite being less than 70ohm. Thank you.
@Polky74 If I understand you correctly — you're referring to a "specialty" release of the firmware, only for users that want the M12 perpetually in high-gain mode regardless of the headphone attached?

Yes, it would be a way to be able to use the M12 with headphones that are more demanding to drive even if they don't reach 70ohm. How to give the possibility to select high gain even without having the dedicated selector like on my M15. I don't think it would take long to release an optional update to address the lack of the selector. I think it would make many users happy, including me. Thank you.
Fortunately, the M12 can also be "made fun of" as is done with the LG V series and activate the high gain by first connecting a connector to it and then the headphone cable through it.
@Polky74 They've put it on their list of improvements but it will take a while to get to, the full engineering team is working on wrapping up other projects at the moment. Stay tuned...
