Yet another Isa post from yours truly.
I know. I know. But I can’t help myself. And to think Isa can be had used for $375? Unreal bargain.

Current set up—
Isa (duh).

Sedna earfit short, large (black ones).
I’ve never used large eartips before, but combo of short, wide Isa nozzles necessitates for me.

Penon Mix cable, balanced.
Tried at least five quality cables with Isa and this is my favorite. Sound is full, bass snaps, highs sparkle, mids non-recessed. (A great cable, period.)

A&K se200. Power. Isa needs power. Not the most powerful dap but it’s up there.
Isa simply will not show its abilities without sufficient drive on tap.

On a budget (or not) Isa is an impeccable DD performer. But all three chain links are critical to getting there. Don’t have to be what works for me but experimentation is required. Cheers

Hello,

I just bought a pair of Oriolus from one of the head-fi members on the classified. The ads said they are the 'Reborn', but unfortunately they didn't come with the PW Audio cables. I can't find anywhere on the box that says 'Reborn'. Could someone help to tell which version they are? I have attached some photos.
Thank you.

These are not Reborn but the Mk2 Jaben version for the Hong Kong market (I am having the same, so I am quite sure). Internals are the same as Reborn, just the cable is different. Also, the Reborn uses a different kind of (German) resin for the shells and other MMCX connectors, but the difference is not visible and they sound the same as Mk2

I was listening to bird today with orphy.

It was mind-blowingly good.

That is all.

Szalayi has REALLY NICE bass since late yesterday. Better bass than Timeless or my Hook. Much more defined bass with nice slam. This IEM is very enjoyable to listen too now, but I will continue to break in a couple of more days. You can't beat a good DD for bass!!

Had been a huge fan of Oriolus products since the very first Oriolus earphone, but prices are now getting absolutely ridiculous here in Japan! And I really cannot call it any other than a kind of rip off!
The Finschi, for example, used to be about 15 000 Yen (about 110 Dollar) for several years and was Oriolus` accessible low end product. Now they suddenly sell the exact same earphone for 40 000 Yen (290 Dollar), which is almost three times of the original price! Just like that!
Crassi used to be 120 000 Yen (around 890 Dollar) only 6 months ago (!), and price has almost doubled since then.
The Mellianus, that already used to be very expensive with 250 000 yen (1900 Dollar) is now 650 000 yen (4800 Dollar), which is former Trailii level and absolutely insane! And guess what, of course the Traillii now costs 1 200 000 (almost 9000 Dollar!)! See screenshots beneath!
This once more shows that R&D and material prices have almost nothing to do with the crazy price development in our hobby. Oriolus, like others, have just transformed themselves into a pure luxury goods brand - which is a sad development for the majority of us music lovers imo.
