Just wondering if i should proceed up the grado ladder considering my amp is an HA-1 MKII from Meier.

I liked what I heard! I used an HP-1, HP-2, RS-1, SR-325, SR 200 and SR60 with a Porda Corda and HA-I and I liked the sound a lot. Given that the HA-II is significantly better than the HA-I, I can only assume that the synergy would be even greater.

I had not the pleasure to try them with the Grado unfortunately ; they give a neutral - controlled , bit "cold" response, they would probably do nicely with grados .

I don't enjoy my Alessandro MS-2 with the Prehead MkI on the 0 Ohm output... I find them too bright/agressive for long listening sessions (album after album after album...after album) so usually (99% of the time) I end up using my Sennheiser HD-650s.

I owed an HA-1 Mk2 for a while, but upgraded to the Prehead. I think they sounded quite nice with all the Grados I've tried. To me, Meier amps can pretty much drive anything. I've yet to find a headphone that I did not like with the Prehead that I thought sounded significantly better with another amp.

I love my RS-2s with my Aria. It is definitely not warm though if that is what you are looking for.

Since headphones are an inanimate object, I do not think they can "like" or "dislike" anything.

Although I have no experience with Meier amps, I see no reason why Grados would not pair well with them to produce a desirable sound.

Listening to the PS-1 on a Corda HA-2 MKII right now.

The Grado/Corda combo is definetely a good match although at the Ha-2 MKII price point, I prefer the Earmax Pro for both the RS-1 and PS-1.

I liked the synergy of the Aria with the HF1 more than with the HD650.

i wouldn't have asked if Ultimate Ears Super .fi Pro 5 hadn't had such a nasty fight with HA1 MKII. it was ugly and they arn't talking too each other anymore

The Aria can drive the RS1 perfectly fine.
