Im not a reviewer neither can I describe the sound in a way you guys would like but I had an experience of it during Canjam SG. Not the best place for critical listening but I liked it so much that I came back to listen to it again with my own tracks. Even liked it more than the Arya which I tried as well and found to be a bit bright sounding. I heard the Rosson guy himself brought along about 5 units during the event though the price was around USD2400 if Im not wrong . As for the sound, what I liked was its tonality. It was not dark, its more balanced compared to a LCD3, bass was fast and the mids where upfront and clear with a slight warmth. Never heard any sibilance especially on a track I tested which I know is piercing on some other headphones. The weight is a bit heavy though probably its due to those wonderfully colored cups. After the event I looked for this thread and was surprised that not many are talking about it. I hope there is a loaner tour to reviewers which will market this product even further.

How was it’s soundstage compared to an LCD3?

Its not big (this Im quite sure) but its neither narrow though I cant confidently compare to the LCD3 because they were not side to side. At least the sound stage is not like its inside your head like the Onkyo A800 that I own. And aside from sibilance, the other characteristic from a HP that I dont like which I easily notice is the narrow soundstage which I did not notice from the Rad O.

That’s awesome, some more were posted on the Facebook page this week. They all look really bad ass. I like the grill colors

Hello,
Understand your business plan to enter the market with such a product
Just wondering if you planned to release an headphone below $1000 before the end of the year?

Thank you,
Kelvin

I would never say never, but our current focus is the Zero.

Unfortunately, this graph doesn't really tell us that much, because it looks like it has had a compensation curve applied to it. A FR graph with the raw response is what you want.

Also, I hope the starting dBSPL level for these is not correct. Because if it is, it would mean that these headphones are only 81 dB/mW, making them even harder to drive than the infamous HiFiMAN HE-6 and Susvara, which are rated at only 83 dB/mW and requires a minimum of 1-2 Watts just to wake them up! :scream:

XERO1 there is no correction curve applied to our measurements, they are tested at 1mw and are smoothed at 1/3 octave.

With that being said you are very much correct by saying the graph doesn’t tell the whole story. In most cases planar drivers require some juice to get the blood flowing. The zero does like power, but can be powered by portable setups and sounds great doing so. I wouldn’t put it in the very hard to drive category.

to be honest i am bit surprised for lack of info, as it was at canjam i assume, i thought lot of people would give some impressions but apparently not

Hopefully soon some reviews will surface, we are currently searching for a headfi user to do a review for us.

With that being said, if anyone is interested in doing a review and has previous experience doing so please email info@rosson.audio. If you have links to other reviews or pieces you have written please include those as well.

Thank you!!

Can you post the sensitivity here? I called you all last week and left a message asking about it but never heard back.

Sorry about that, we just got the phone system setup and are working out the kinks. And yes we can post sensitivity.

In my opinion they do better with xlr cable. Units come with 3.5mm which I don’t understand.
