I have a Schiit Vali driving a pair of powered speakers. I'm very happy with it. I might have a line on a 10 watt per channel tube amp (I own it and a technician is inspecting it, if the rebuild price is reasonable it will be rebuilt.) The amp would need a volume control (the volume and tone controls are built into a remote part of the console and integrated with the phono preamp.) I was thinking a Schiit Vali (a second one) but I am wondering what the Valhalla or Saga would add for the extra cash. I realize the Saga adds a boatload of inputs but I only play CD's and (once in a while) files from a computer. Also I realize a remote is nice. But what do the more expensive preamps add to the sound?
