And for last minute checkup, there is this absolute POS: IMG_8099.jpeg [Third World: recorded March, 1969; released June, 1969.] Nice band name 🤣! The worse this recording sounds, the better the playback system ... 😖😫👍.
I remember when that hairstyle was popular. Yeah, never. 🤣

🤣 That's Stage 2. Stage 3 starts when you have boxes appear on the front porch containing tubes you don't remember ordering, buying identical tubes on Ebay 'cause you forgot you already have some in the stash, and tube rolling becomes a 3-month long task to roll all 104 tubes that can possibly work in the component.

Actually that last part is more Stage 4-ish 'cause you bought 27 adapters in Stage 3. 🤣🤣
  1. tube aware
  2. tube curious
  3. tube dabbling
  4. tube experimental
  5. tube obsessed
  6. tube polyamorous
  7. ?

And speaking of cats, one of mine just managed to break a tube I was shipping to @adydula so I made another selection in its place. This time it was not Finnegan, he will be outside most of the day and will only stop in for a snack and water. Fortunately it was not the bugle boy that broke.

This motion sounds like a good one to me; knowing my proclivities. Way back, I *tried* to rip LP’s but the discipline and the sheer amount of real-time involved rapidly made it a failing effort. But, I could see ripping them (CD’s) to hard drive.
...
I have a few LPs needledropped, takes quite a bit of effort. Something like 1-2h per? Plus all the nervosa about how good my AtoD is, the turntable setup, etc. Eeek!

I ripped 60 CDs in a few days, as counting on Roon to catalog them properly I wasn't concerned with metadata too much. My process is a CLI named abcde, set minimal metadata (album, track names) and upload to server for Roon to catalog.

Pre Roon, for non-pop music, it would take multiple iterations as the online information for such can be a real crap shoot.

You really know that you have reached tube collection ecstasy when you clean out your wife's Christmas ornament storage closet and replace it with your overflow tube collection---and live to tell about it.

Oh crap, I made a bid on a triple mica 5670 5 star...and found out I won!
OMG another $20 down the drain!
LOL!

Alex
That is the version of a GE five star that I own and that I rated close to the WE 396a in my tests. $20 is a great price IMHO.😁

Unfortunately, since you are wise enough to own none, it was not a 'blue print' ECG 5814 .... 😒.

My business partner sends me a box every year at the holidays from them. OMG GOOD!
I downloaded the GoldBelly app. It has Cowgirl Creamery as well as BBQ from NC and Texas Brisket. Chicago deep dish pizza etc.

The food in Italy is just awesome, and Bologna in particular is even better. Bettered only (in our experience) by Napoli. ... but a different better, not just a better better... if that makes sense?

Coffee and Gelato is coming from another world in Italy.
And the tomatoes ... OMG

Soooo much to like love!

Do not forget the fresh Mediterranean seafood along the coastline.

@Bowmoreman asked about setting up an IPad Pro with Qobuz to a DAC using USB type C to type B and I just did it using an IPhone 15 and Bifrost to Vali 3. I have a charging station I could use for my phone were I not just playing around. It could make for a nice bedside setup if I was so inclined. All solid cherry, a WiiM is also in place if I wanted to stream from it. Now trying WiiM through Bifrost to Vali, I am less impressed but then I am using an optical cable.

• Ebay, Brent Jesse Recording, Tube World Express, Langrex (U.K.) .....
• Why the 'long plate' 12AU7? To my ears, it sounds better than same brand short / regular / unspecified plate 12AU7. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Thanks

I first heard of white BBQ sauce here, it was recommended for chicken. Cooked two chickens in the smoker on Saturday. I had never before smoked a chicken. Pulling them was a lot more effort than pulling a pork shoulder. Tried a white BBQ sauce recipe that I found on Southern Living’s web site. It was very good! I used Duke’s mayonnaise, as recommended here. I should have played Sweet Home Alabama, but I didn’t.
