Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

Current Schiit.com site demo:

It was kind of a joke but thanks for the demographics chart.
I'm somewhat suspicious to the "high end" crowd. Always see them as old recalcitrant geezers with too much money and to much time to spare on bottomless discussions.
Now you bolstered my faith in humankind somewhat.

Then what do you play your LP's on?

No, no, no....don't say you don't have any LP's. Heavy sigh. Now I'm going to have to buy a Bifrost 2 for you to redeem yourself. :relaxed:

That's correct. I own no records.

Never got into it...my first format of choice was cassette--because they worked in car stereo. This is pre-practical-car-CD era. When CDs hit, I went straight into CD (well, by 1984). I still remember Tower Records' CD case being a single end cap on dozens of rows of records and cassettes. I still remember paying like $24 for an import CD (Blancmange) from that end cap.

And no, we're not doing a cassette player. Shudder.

I think traditional web forums like Head-Fi (as opposed to something like Reddit or Instagram) skew older, so I think Schiit fans on here tend to be older.

The last album on cassette I bought was the Stranger Things 2 soundtrack by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein.

In the minority.
I am at the point where I hate to go to bed/sleep, I never know what I will feel like when I wake up.
Shiit music till the wee hours of the night.

My Gungnir Multi Bit is patiently waiting on Unison, I know when to procrastinate. Never got around to ordering Gen 5, even though I planned to.
Maybe send in one of the USB less Bifrost MBs also. But I know that I really want Bifrost 2 and Asgard 3/Lyr 3. All in silver or course

Jason, Mike & team are rocking & rolling and on the trail to never having too much fun.

I started with cassettes and moved to CDs too, but I got into records in the late 90s because you could buy crates full of records at garage sales for like $5-$10. In the pre-streaming era, that was some amazing value. I probably wouldn't get into it today as it's expensive to build a decent record collection.

I'm guessing that asking @Jason Stoddard for an 8-track player would be out of the question. LOL! That's what I had in the car, and yes, they made cars back then. My first 'real' turntable was a Dual 1218, and when CD's first hit I couldn't wait to have one. But the player prices were way too high (for me). Finally jumped in with a $400 player....and went right back to my LP's because it sounded sooooo bad. Then along came this thing called a Theta...

Didn't intend to scare anyone off with my previous post on the tools. I've been playing with LP's since before the left hand side of the demographic was even born, and over the years you just tend to acquire more and more tools. Most of what I have enables me to get to that n'th degree of anal, which is my usual approach to most things.

I loved my Walkman. I would totally buy a SCHIITMAN!
