A question for the peanut gallery... the latest Bifrost 2/64 compared to Gungnir? If choosing Silver, pricing difference isn't an issue. Analog output in Gungnir is more robust. I certainly don't dislike the 2/64, in fact, I like it a lot; however, you don't know what you're missing until you hear it.

A deal is a deal and maybe it's an opportunity to upgrade. Which is better?

I just received my Modi+ and I'm trying to get it to work with my iPhone as the source. I have it powered up with the included USB C to USB A cable and wall-wart, but when I connect to the USB input with the Apple Camera connector kit, I get the "Cannot Use Accessory: Schiit Modi+: This accessory requires too much power." message. I've sent a note to Schiit support but thought I'd ask here if anyone has found a solution.

Are you using the wall-wart on the always powered input and the usb on your iPhone simultaneously?

Maybe they are connected to the incorrect input ?

presumably, you mean Modi+ and not Mani+, when referring to the small form-factor DAC. (Mani is a phono preamp). try the following:

step 1) iphone to Apple Camera connector (lightning cable)
step 2) Apple Camera connector USB A port to Modi+ USB C port

for step 3) a few options to try:
3A) try just the apple AC charger by itself into the lightning port on the Camera connector
3B) try just the schiit USB power adapter by itself into the USB port on the Modi+ with the plug symbol next to it
one or both of these is supposed to work.

3C) if the two other options fail, try both adapters at the same time.

IMO, has to do with design characteristics of the actual DAC chips used, OG used AD5791 which is voltage output type, so lent itself to discrete buffer stage.

per channel and output phase, LIM uses multiple TI DAC8812 chips which are current source output type (with tight voltage compliance limit), so that generally lends itself to differential integrated transimpedance (I-V) circuits like the LM49724. it's not a jelly bean op-amp by any means (two differential inputs and two outputs per "amplifier block")

Thank you - the solution is to use the Apple Camera connector with the Apple AC charger into the camera connector (option 3A). [I fixed my typo too - I did mean the Modi+ ].

Respectfully, this only addresses B-stock and Closeout items. This is the first time that Schiit has also done, just, Sales on that page, right? I would not expect that the rules for B-Stock and Closeout would apply to Sales - many online store fronts have similar policies about B-stock and/or Clearance items, but those policies do not generally apply to items just "on sale." However, I am not sure what the reality is here.

May I ask, Jason - what is the intended policy toward Schiit's first-ever items on sale not for reasons of being B-stock or on closeout? I don't think this is going to be applicable to me... I expect to be very happy with my Loki Mini+ But, future sales likelihood notwithstanding, I am curious what the official policy is for this new category of items on that page.

Great story, but anyone who uses a serrated knife (that isn't a bread/frozen food) knife, is leaving a lot of knife technology on the floor.

A serrated knife "saws" (tears) meat (or anything else). A sharp standard bevel knife cuts slices (cuts) cleanly.

Standard bevel knives require someone skilled to resharpen them on a regular basis. Serrated knives may be used indefinitely, by idiots (people who don't won't to learn to sharpen).

I don't intend to brand anyone who likes a serrated knife as an idiot. Frankly, there's way too many Idiots reigning, to add to the total.

The texture of fish prepared with a sharp knife is totally different from fish prepared with a dull knife

Quick question to all of you "Tube Heads".... I literally brushed off some dust of my Little Dot MKIII yesterday. I have had it in a closet for 8-10 years. Still sounds great! Except that after a bit of time, between tracks, I hear a bit of "static" sound from the right channel. I wanted to clean the tube connectors to see if that may eliminate the problem. What/how do you recommend I clean the tube connectors? Thanks for your input!
