Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I would love to go electric, but living in an apartment building restricts me as I cannot install solar panels nor any EV charging equipment (and the landlord does not provide any charging spots, either).

I assume they would have issues with me throwing a charging cord from my balcony to the car at the other end of the parking lot some 100 yards away
indeed charging and autonomy are still an issue. Good friend has a model3 now for two years and required fixes already several times, mainly week plastic parts, and the battery is already showing less capacity, my guess is that fast charging is making the battery worse

Indeed, Teslas have spotty quality records and if one ONLY uses DC fast charging that will stress the battery before it's time. Properly taken care of with regular AC level 2 charging and only periodic DC level 3 (like on road trips) an EV battery will retain 80% of capacity at 20 years. The Tesla Model S we had before the Mustang was 6 years old when we traded it and battery capacity was down about 10%. But I only DC fast charged when I had to...

The Tesla had all manner of mechanical and electrical issues, the Ford has had none of those with only software-related issues to complain about. :)

Apologizes, but Ham and Pineapple pizza is what I grew up with in Vancouver and I like it - not gonna argue it is the best, but to each their own.
Add red onions and I'm in 100%!

There is a study showing DC rapid charging is not significantly or statistically worse that Level 2 charging on battery life.

That being said, I agree with you about avoiding DC rapid charging as much as possible. Just the EMF that the station puts out during charging is a little unsettling. I could feel my steering wheel vibrate a bit when using a 150KW/hr station.

Wth my level 2 charger at home, I can easily top off or charge the I Pace overnight. I only had to use the rapid charger on a trip >190 miles one way. That's more testament to the meh battery range of the Jaguar vs an actual EV issue.

Good thing Friday night is pizza night in my house. You all have me wanting pizza so bad!
I lived in Boulder, CO for a bit. The pizza just sucked compared to the NY style we get around here in South Jersey. I was told the bread doesn't rise properly, so that's why they use wheat, etc.
I missed cheesesteaks too Nothing compares to Philly.
EDIT to add: You all=Youze

This time of year I am craving home grown tomatoes and caprese salad. There has also been a lot of talk on a local site about pork tenderloin sandwiches, an Indiana favorite.😀

I am what could probably be described as a ‘cable sceptic’.
I was too, Les. That changed as my system evolved. Other than the single ended signal path from my turntable -> phono preamp -> Loki Max, all other connections are balanced XLR. Upgrading those (analog) cables has - each time - delivered a discernable change in my system's overall tonal balance. And because I am painfully aware of the concept of confirmation bias, I have personally swapped the cables blind while an "audiophile" friend listened. He confirmed my choices 9 out of 10 times.

Because of this, I am no longer a cable denier. :) Good-quality analog cables are 'tone controls', of a sort.

This still does not explain the difference I heard in the USB cables, though. 🤷‍♂️

I have, however, been impressed with DH Labs’ digital cables.
I use one of their BNC to BNC cables (D-750) and an AES/EBU (D-110) in my system.
I have two D-110 AES cables. Exceptionally well built at a cost effective price point, IMHO.

A little mid-day URD session on a beautiful 75 degree Seattle summer day. I'm loving this transport and have switched over to the Magnepan LRSs for the last couple of days. I think the synergy is spot-on. Re-discovering this amazing CD. You have Reached Mike Phillips. If you like saxophone, some great vocals, guest artists like Wayman Tisdale, you should check this out. Mike played with Michael Jackson, Prince, and Stevie Wonder. 17 tracks to keep you going for awhile. Nicely recorded and shows off your subwoofer capability, in a balanced way. Cheers

Just curious what your dream-setups are, you know 'if I could afford..'
Mine are:
PC/ Urd > Yggdrasil OG > Freya S > Vidar2 mono > Sonus faber minima amator2
PC/ Urd > Yggdrasil OG > Mjölnir3 > Focal Utopia 2022

Not there yet though.. Sigh.. For now PC > Bifrost 2/64 > Lyr3+ > Quad ERA1.. Not too shabby, I think

DH makes high quality cables that are fairly priced (for the most part) and aesthetically pleasing.

A thank you goes out to @sam6550a for some amazing Amperex 5AR4’s! Right now I am using Qobuz to a Carver C 4000 preamp, then a Cary SLA-70 MK2 tube power amp. Listening to a 1973 live version of Sweet Jane. Come to think of it he gave me the brown base Sylvania 6SL7WGT’s as well.🤪 The Ei KT 90’s are from Mr. Cowen. I need to start treating these fine gentlemen better.

Psa here. Pi2AES is having a sale on the Pi2AES Lite board. These don't have the AES connector or I2S connector. Its $200 instead of $250 and claim to be limited QTY.

I have seen several conversations here about this product and I've been on the fence about trying one. Took the plunge here as I have a couple (non Schiit Dacs) that lack usb in.
