Sometimes you just get a good deal. :)

It's like the few sub-$10 Tone Poet and Blue Note Classic records I nabbed from a couple of online stores this past year.
Purchased!

I’m a latecommer to bourbon. Is double-casked whiskey, by definition, smoother than **straight**? And more expensive (due to the extra processing )…? Attached image.

While I have liked some double casked bourbon I don’t recall it being smoother. It may make it more complex but you can get better complexity by just aging it longer in one barrel. 5 years aging is better than average but I find 8-12 years optimal. Anything older than 12 starts to pick up more of the charring from the inner barrel and gives it a smokier sensation. Some people think it’s worth the added expense but not me. And if you want smoother bourbon consider wheated ones like Makers Mark or Weller if you can find it.

You know, I spoke too soon, I actually like the Magni+ Heretic really well with my DT-880 600ohm. I boost the lows slightly with my Loki Mini+ just to give it a bit more foundation and then it's damn near perfect for my listening tastes. Also... Uh... Ok, hear me out, ever think of using a Magni+ Heretic as a preamp into a Magni+? You're gonna laugh and I'm gonna deserve it but it sounds good  Now that really IS heretical!

I always get crucified for saying this but IMO a DAC like Yggdrasil is not intended to be a source switching device. It's a single-input device with the ability to handle a variety of different input types. If you need source switching, you really need a preamp.

Noted.
And the reasoning behind that rather … uhm … "exceptional" opinion would be?
I mean other than the obvious: That I would have to buy two Yggdrasils for my living room setup, which is clearly the best approach to my "two digital sources into one analog chain" requirement. Well, at least from Schiit's perspective, anyway.

(Not that @Ableza would be able to actually read that question, of course…)

Schiit should finally give in to popular demand and do it like the rest of the industry does:
Slap a touch screen on everything.
…or leapfrog them somehow.
That would be even better.
How, though?
Lasers!
One of these, maybe replacing the copper with fiber-optics:
