Hi Jason, I’m super-happy thank you.

With GaN chargers their switching frequency is much higher than normal SMPS chargers, and I’ve seen a video that comparatively demonstrated a massive reduction in noise.

For $30 it is worth a go.

Andrew
I actually own one of these charging bricks that uses GaN charging tech. I am expecting no sound difference but I’ll swap out the brick, play my test track, swap again play same track etc. it’s not empirically sound, but it’ll be fun just to see. Again, I don’t expect a change.

Can I ask what the point of a non tube-tube is at that price level? Like lisst makes sense as an affordable alternative when your tubes are getting old or die on you. But a 15k tube that’s not a tube…I don’t get it. Wouldn’t you just want a solid state amp at that point? Am I missing something obvious?

It's supposed to be the current pinnacle of Class D lol, but we all know Class D has serious limitations on how good it performs compared to Class A or AB. Seriously doubt it'll compete with Class AB amps at its price market.

I’m not even against class D, I heard the Totl amp from NAD and thought it sounded wonderful, but if putting class d into a tube is cutting edge, then that’s the goofiest crap I’ve ever seen. It’s like back before impossible foods and beyond foods when some brand would make a fake burger that tasted nothing like burger, it’s like just own what you are!

Did you say Merrill Audio?

I got sucked into one of their "sales" when I got the cable (4pin XLR) it was 80% covering with just a mogami thickness cable inside. The connectors were nice at least.

I wish I could find / recall the video link - the results were impressive.

Awesome. Looking forward to your experience.

Agree 100% with your assessment. I can build a 1-meter pair of Mogami 2549 interconnects and Rean Neutrik connectors for less than $15. I tie the shield to the source end, only. I love the neutrality of these cables. Another great, high performance cable is Canare L-2T2S, which is sonically very similar to 2549.
I too DIY'd 2549 for all my interconnects, both balanced as well as single ended along with Neutrik/Rean connectors. 3080 for my AES digital interconnect from Urd to my Cal Audio Labs Alpha (OG) dac. Canare 4S11 for speaker cables terminated with Audioquest gold spades.
Took forever to break them all in but happy ears now.
Has anyone tried Canare 4S11G on their speakers yet?
