Mine has a slight pop at 12 o'clock on the volume. It ain't the tubes. I've rolled enough to know it don't matter. My Freya N has that pop at 12 o'clock but it's very minor and unobtrusive for me. I'm usually beyond that point on the volume control anyway. Maybe as I start exploring different tubes down the road it'll go away, but .
Depends on how much guidance he tries to give me between now and completion. I have been known to charge a nuisance fee. Will those thoughts include forms of corrugated cardboard?
just bought a used CD...pricey, but...Unfortunately, "New Pants" not available at Apple Music ......
Discogs has many, different prices ...just bought a used CD...pricey, but...
Pretty!!!I am now the proud owner of some thin stock tiger maple that should be suitable for a mini tower build for @bcowen.
I have some thoughts on the supporting posts and the base so I will get to that this weekend.
I was thinking about asking for some corrugated tiger maple, but then came to my senses.Depends on how much guidance he tries to give me between now and completion. I have been known to charge a nuisance fee.
Ok then. Good thing I ain't anal about it, eh?Mine has a slight pop at 12 o'clock on the volume. It ain't the tubes. I've rolled enough to know it don't matter.
@brankin Rear tubes are right channel, front are left channel.Do you (or anybody) know if the top tube corresponds to the left channel, bottom tube to the right channel - or vice versa? I also have the same behavior in a Freya+ and would love to eliminate it.
I know this from the manual:
The right tubes are for the differential voltage gain stage. The left
tubes are for the cathode follower output stage.
Well gosh! Y'all are making me wish I earned commissions off of these bottles - I could buy some new Schiit!I made a bit of a road trip today to verify rumors of a Total Wine in Maryland and by golly it’s true. Found this bottle on the shelves and will give it a go this evening. I did take a few sniffs and found fruit cake drenched in B&B on the nose which works for me.
If there a list of tubes that are usable in various Schiit it would be most helpful. Many of us have several components with FV, Freya, Lyr, Vali and Mjolnir accepting various forms of different tubes. I have yet to obtain a 12a_7 adapter but I probably need to. Badly. From my own experience, Vali 2 (OG) came stock with a 6BZ7 (gain of ~35). It plays nicely with a 6SN7 (gain of 20), and also plays nicely with a 12AT7 (gain of 60). Folkvangr plays nicely with both of those into high-impedance 'phones in low gain with the impedance multiplier disengaged, but doesn't play nicely with either of those into low impedance 'phones in high gain with the impedance multiplier engaged. Incubus sounds amazing with the 6SN7-gain it was designed for, but doesn't play nicely with a 3x gain 12AT7. .... My advice for anyone just starting with tube rolling is to stick with tubes that have the same gain (or close) as the stock tubes, and having this information included in the spreadsheet is great. Once you have entered the depths of the rabbit hole where even light can no longer escape, only then start playing with tubes of differing gain.
Gungnir owners, I have quick question for you:
What do you pair yours with? Meaning, what do the chains look like that you have your Gungnir in?
