If there a list of tubes that are usable in various Schiit it would be most helpful. Many of us have several components with FV, Freya, Lyr, Vali and Mjolnir accepting various forms of different tubes. I have yet to obtain a 12a_7 adapter but I probably need to. Badly.

No 'master' list that I'm aware of. With the number of Schiit tube components available and the possible tube combinations that could work the list would be close to endless. The HeadFi threads that are dedicated to specific Schiit components have a lot of info on tube rolling, so some good resources within them.

I've been listening to my Vali 2++ for a couple days in preparation for receiving my Vali 3, which just came in. I'm using the same 396a tube in both. Out of the box, I find the 3 a substantial improvement over the 2++. Same form factor, but noticeably better sound for my taste. I'll leave it to @adydula to review the unit in detail. He is much better than I at doing so. Suffice it to say, Jason has another winner on his hands for sure.

Y'all are killing me. I just bought a Flux Mentor so why tf do I want a Vali3 with a 396a in it ***?

Quick look at the specs fof Vali 2+ and Vali 3..

Seems the same power specs.
Same gain selections.
Same output impedance.
Plate voltage is different for sure...
Several differences. but wait for the review...

....
