Just.....beautiful! Tom you've outdone yourself yet again. Love it!! And everything even sounds better, 'cause maple is the best sounding wood. 🤣 (kidding....kinda)

Wow, the Finnegan Feline Furniture Finishing company certainly outdid itself with this creation! Marvelous!

Yuppers that is beautiful. No one can now deny that @bcowen has a nice rack*.

What is the plaque in front?

It's Tom's plaque. That board can be put across the top if clearance allows. That's a Foton in Vali 3 right now that is typical 6N3P size. There might be clearance with a 396A or 5670 that are quite a bit shorter...I'll have to try.

It completes the rack if a Vali is not used on top. The logo is just something I had made for me so I am giving a few out.

It should include Finnegan's paw print, but I understand that he is hiding that identification from authorities due to other issues---.

Thanks, every now and then a plan comes together. Some of the credit goes to Bill for inspiring such a build. 😁
And of course Schiit makes gear this size so it is not a massive project.

What I should consider building is a headphone stand with black walnut sandwiched between tiger maple with a walnut base just to complete the set.

I've had the Aegir 2 for about 3 weeks now. I really (!) like this amp but it's going into protection mode -- even at volumes slightly lower than when I'm listening to my original Aegir. That kind of surprised me. I've reached out to customer service to see if that's expected or maybe my Aegir 2 has the wrong protection mode threshold, but don't have an answer yet. I have a few more days before I'll have to box it up and send it back and hoping they get in touch before that. When comparing the two, I'm playing the same songs from a Schiit Freya + (tube mode) to the amp to Devore Nines speakers, which are 91db efficient at 8 ohms. I don't normally listen very loud (typically in the 70s with peaks into 80s) but every so often want to crank it a bit -- in this case peaks were hitting 98.8db when it shut down. Aegir 1 went slightly louder without going into protection. I was measuring volume with Decibel X, an iPhone app. I was hoping the Aegir 2 with more power would let me just stick with a single stereo amp. If I need to add a second, I'll likely stick with the original.

@Ripper2860 -- you're the only other person on the thread that has an Aegir 2. Have you had any issues with protection mode? Thanks.

A rather old P-Touch with a built-in symbol library. Clear 6mm tape with black letters.

lol I've got the exact same label maker sitting on my desk. It may be old but it's never given me a minute's trouble except when I have to buy new, expensive, label cartridges.

edit - very nice work, Tom! I'd expect nothing less from you!
