In the Japanese link above (http://hifiearbuds.net/?p=111), he says "the Cygnus obtained this time is a pre-release model". He seems to find it a bit bass light, but that hasn't been reported by anyone since, so it might be tuned a little differently to the production model?

On AliExpress there is a seller offering two versions: 35mm (no mic) and 25mm, the latter is the "original" and the first is a balanced version. Has anyone compared both?

All the quick reviews i have read have been that the bass is good on these buds. Some say it sounds better than Zen 2. Mine will be here some time this week ill be able to let you know what my thoughts are. I have zen 2 and asura 2.

Afaik penon audio is trustworthy. I´m also tempted to order a pair, but then I´m so much in love with my monks right now!

From what I have read so far, some reviewers say that the Cygnus really shines in the mids, however, highs are so so. They do not recommend you use the Cygnus for critical listening on orchestral or violin pieces. At least, that is from what I understood.
