SOUNDAWARE P1 Flagship Balanced Pre-Amplifier & All Discrete Circuit Full Balanced Headphone Amplifier

I would say the 4.4mm connection is the new balanced desktop standard replacing the 4 pin xlr which actually replaced the dual 3 pin xlr. One balanced connector for desktop and portable. Finally!!!

If that 4.4mm connection as good as real XLR, then that would be great :) but standards in these days are not very standard.

Sony created the standard and put it in all its signature products both portable and desktop. Sennheiser put in their new desktop HDV820.

Both did put the 4 pin xlr in the desktop dac/amps for backward compatibility.

Well you need to understand that, I just bought my Utopia and I got a regular 6.3mm connector, what I mean is that the industry needs to accept it as a standard too, Sennheiser is not the only player on the market. At least with 4 pin xlr or 6.3mm or 3.5mm I can be calm and not worry that the next device won't support the standard.

Any direct comparisons vs Audio-gd Master 9 or more thorough reviews?
Regarding the Utopia, I don't share peoples opinions on the Utopia, I think based on my current system they are very capable headphone, the sound is full and has plenty bass to talk about (so no "Lean sound" as they say) so if HD800 didn't have much bass to talk about, and HD800S improved on that a lot... Utopia spews dust on both of them combined. It's true that the soundstage is not gigantic, but there's plenty of Imaging to make up for it and feel like there is.
The Soundaware P1 is also a much smaller device than Master 9, but I like that shaded window on top with the lights :) Though I do think that the front could have been more special.
You need to start marketing reviews because this is so far a no name, even though I remember when I started the hobby here people had a lot of soundaware equipment in their signatures, don't see this as much nowadays.
Thank you very much.
Last a few years we made a huge progress in desktops, and our sales is Top3 in China. We only announced one portable full scene flagship player MR1, so head-fi wasn't our platform.
To be honest, we did spent most of our time in China.
Right now, we need to make the overseas hear what Soundaware can do now, our products now is much much better than previous M1 and M1 pro, it's totally another level.

Also I hope with the selling growth, there will be more reviews coming.
Thanks

So I ordered the amp today, I'm guessing it will take about two weeks.

I will translate some Chinese reviews later and arrange overseas trial.

I would love to try the SoundAware P1. Do you have a US distributor who could let me try it? If I like it better than my current headphone amp I would certainly keep it and write a good review:)

I do agree having 1/4" and 4 pin XLR for headphone output is standard for a home headphone amplifier. I use the 4 pin XLR personally.

I heard you were coming up with a new CD ripper too. I would like to buy that as well. Will it be released soon?

Thank you for your interest, currently we don't have a us distributor, maybe you could apply for the trial later in this month.

Yes we have the plan to produce CD-TWO, but this gonna take some while because we need to announce some portable music players first.
Thanks

It got tough competition but from what I've heard from Era in Ear it should easily manage.
I have a few tips:
1. P1 is very sensitive to power supply and it has built-in filter, so better use single crystal copper or fine silver power cable.
2. Better make sure the power cables of P1 and the sound source are in the same socket to avoid ground loop interface.

So far, so good. It has an immediately impressive "clear" and lively sound to it, without harshness. I'm glad that you've avoided the typical "warm" sound that a lot of gear has.
