Symphonium Titan - Impressions and reviews

@ZeroChad am I supposed to wear the meteor so that the shells fit flush against the concha? Same question for helios. I got dizzy with the helios when the nozzle goes that dip. For the meteor, I haven’t found any tips that seal well enough for a flush fit

Edit: a helios with shorter nozzles sounds like a good idea. Looking forward to hearing titan and crimson
Or try the Helios SE!

I found the Divinus Velvets work wonders with the iem to get a great fit/seal, but of course it’s all personal isn’t it.

Not exactly. I think given everyone's ears are different it's hard to expect it to fit exactly flush but I suppose relatively flush would be a reasonable statement.

The Meteor was more designed to fit into smaller conchas in general, but may stick out of them if ones ear canals are small etc.

The Helios is trickier because of its long nozzle and it's totally fine if it sticks out as long as you get a good comfortable seal.

I think ideally just take a fit that feels best, and try out a lot of tip sizes. Some people like me prefer a larger tip and would happily not have an IEM sit completely inside the concha area because it's more comfortable over time.

There can be sound differences between a wider fit vs a smaller fit due to the distance between the drivers and eardrums, ear impedance and whatnot, but generally speaking I wouldn't be too bothered by it.

Comfort takes priority any day of the week.

Edit: Forgot to comment on Crimson/Titan fit. Generally it's a much easier and universal fit because it's shallower but in some rare cases individuals may prefer a deeper insertion due to their ear shape. Overall it's a step in the right direction and a larger number of people would find it more comfortable.

I had no issues with fit, have you ever tried any other IEMs from Symphonium? Or even 64 Audio? Very similar.
I will say, the fit was one oddity with my time. I probably spent 3-5 min fiddling with the fit of the left side in particular. Probably just due to me using a different tip, or something else, because the Crimson fit just fine. Once I got it seated though, there were no further issues.

Divinus Velvet was my go-to eartips for CanJam IEM auditioning and is my preferred eartips on many of my personal IEMs.

I took off the stock eartips from Titan. Symphonium guys said they specifically matched and created their own eartips for it, but I still wanted to use the Velvets with Storm, Singularity, and Titan. Velvets sounded and fit great with the Titan. :L3000:

Well hey I've got favorite tips too! I use the Azla Sednafit Regular Eartips on everything from the Meteor to the Crimson :L3000:
I do appreciate tip rolling too, but the Sednafits Regular really does it for me in terms of a firm fit and comfortable seal.

As a prior exhibitor myself, bringing your own eartips to Canjam is definitely a real 'hack'.
It's easier on both the exhibitors and attendees if you have something you are used to, so there's no fiddling with tip sizes at the booth!

Any comparisons of Titan to NightJar Duality?

Any comparisons of Titan to NightJar Duality?
They’re both monitors that have a bass focus so they have that in common. Duality has a very thick and lush presentation. Titan, from my short demo, sounded neutral warm with a nice note weight as well.

Duality is a little more resolving I think and sounded “bigger” and more authoritative. It has an absolutely massive bass.

I think Titan’s sound is a little more versatile with genres maybe. They’re both really fun and again, very different. I can see people having both pairs in their collection.

Does the Titan lack of detail compare to Helios and other 1k price range ?
I don’t think Titan lacks detail, it’s pretty resolving. I do think Helios is more resolving but I’d have to A/B.

I think Helios’ primary aim is to be a technical monitor and it achieves that. I think Titan is trying to do something else. It’s more engaging and fun than Helios to me while still retaining good technicalities.

I like both of them for what they do.

Titan doesn't lack details, it's just not an analytical monster. Titan's details are very good and it's resolving enough for most genres, but technicalities are not as good as something like the Monarch MKIII.

Seriously whatever happened to the triton? Isn’t it another bassy IEM from Symphonium?

The Triton was a warm neutral IEM that we released after the Helios. Suffice to say not many people wanted a warm neutral tuning

The graph looks beautiful. I like that straight downward slope bass.

Maybe later. I might go for Crimson first.

We all have our preferences, I dislike gradual slopes from the bass to mids. I need a bass tuck, otherwise I just don’t enjoy the mids.
