@lavricables is currently building one for me. I will be comparing that to the Audiophile Ninja dn the Forza Caire HPC mk2, as well as the T+A stock cable.
I've ordered one myself but only because of the ergonomics. I have the Audiophile Ninja and I find it to stiff and unwieldy for portable use. I hope that this cable might finally let me use the Solitaire T as a portable wired headphone.

I have found the joint that rotates the right earcup has gotten loser than it's left counterpart. Now the clamping force of the headband is translated stronger on the right earcup, making it rotate towards the back of my head and losing seal on the front. Anyone have a similar experience?

Got a shipment from Lavricables today. It's exactly what I hoped for in terms of ergonomics. And the color is a nice match as well.

Super curious about your impressions… Which other AK is that on the picture?

Hi all, late to the party, but I just ordered the ST. My DAP is the A&K SE180 with 3 of the 4 modules, which I rotate depending on my headphones (I love that feature!). My ANC progression has been: Bose QC35 —> Sony WH100MX4 —> B&W PX8 —> TS. I like the referenceish sound quality and the passive wired feature.

As someone who also has the Px8, you will love the SolT. Excited for yours to arrive!

Any update on how the new cable improves the sound? For me, I always felt like the magic of the SolT was how great it is wireless. When I tried it wired, it was better, but not enough of an improvement to make me use it wired.

I just received my ST (met the delivery driver on the lawn!). Just putting it through its initial paces with my A&K SE180, amp module 4. So far outstanding with the default 3.5mm and 4.4 mm balanced stock cables, now onto wireless hq. Beautiful listening - Steely Dan AJA, first now Santana Abraxas. As far as sound it puts the PX8 to shame.

Edit. Now listening to Miles Davis Kind of Blue. My initial thought is that the balanced cable is much more ‘balanced’, i.e. the bass is much more present, which works very nicely with the treble and mids. My current premium headphones are Focal Clears OG, and so far I prefer the STs wired.

From the article that you linking:

Theoretically, the differential drive delivers an increase in audio performance due to the doubling of the amp’s voltage slew rate (how quickly the amp responds to input signals), lower noise, and reduced crosstalk due to the elimination of the shared audio ground between the left and right channels. But you’re highly unlikely to notice much improvement in listening. Actually, the only real tangible benefit from this is that some amplifiers can output a higher drive voltage through their “balanced” output than they can through the single-ended one. This is only really a benefit if you’re not getting sufficient level to your conventionally wired headphones.

So is this basically just another case of specsmanship and audiophile-targeted marketing? You betcha!”
