What is the device on the 2nd photo? Looks to be used as a source, I see Shirogane mini, I think exiting from the device and going into the Fugaku.

Such finely crafted cables.
It's been a while, Coolers, hopefully you're doing well!
Progress on Project #2 was slow but certain.
After my highly ambitious and poorly misjudged first release date which was set for April 10th, I am happily announcing Project #2 goes Live on May 4th!
Get ready to hear a song and a language most of you have not heard before.

Weekend mode… Anker power bank (great investment) nearby as the Sony will need a charge soon… Perpetua remind me of Traillii in the sense of being whisked away into the music, very immersive and captivating - just the recharge I need after a busy week.
The WM1AM2 is a great DAP and getting a lot more use since I parted with the RS8 and my beloved LPGT Ti. However, I didn’t last long and the urge to buy another DAP that leans more neutral became irresistible… R8 II inbound

We all do listen differently, and in different settings, so this will definitely be a YMMV kind of thing.
I have probably 2 different modes of listening. One where I’m concentrating on something else, usually work, or when I’m reading. In these scenarios, I typically will choose music that has either no lyrics, or lyrics in a language I don’t understand, so that I don’t get distracted so easily. A12t gets a lot of use like this, as it’s steady, even-keel sound doesn’t tend to grab my attention and pull me away from what I’m “supposed” to be doing like other sets do.
Otherwise, I’ll listen much more actively, like if I’m out for a walk, chilling at my desk exploring the week’s new releases, or staring out the window of the train. Spartacus, Xe6, and when I had it Anni, were great for this, each in their own way making me lean forward and pulling me deeply into the music.
Again, for me, it depends. Since getting into headfi, I’ve been exploring a lot of artists and music from many different countries in a lot of different languages, but especially Spanish & Arabic. Maybe it’s the folk traditions of North Africa, the Middle East & South America that’s got me hooked on the music itself, but not being able to understand what’s being sung is sometimes nice. OR, I’ll sit there with google translate and try to work it out… . The lyrics are there for a reason after all..
But when it comes to English-language artists, I like the stuff that I do for the lyrics and the messaging therein as much or more than the music itself, mostly (there are always some guilty pleasures eg AC/DC).
Like, St Vincent crafts and performs music extremely well, but it’s in the lyrics where the real magic happens imho:
Just listened to St Vincent last night. Excellent album, sounded fantastic with Trifecta.

I’m excited to try it - I expect it’ll be very complementary to the 1AM2.
One way in which I like to relive Canjams is by looking at photos a month or so after the event. I really enjoy Singapore Canjams. Singapore is such a great city for audio events and also in general. And probably one of the best cities in the world for food and those who like to eat.
A bit later than I normally like to publish but, at long last, here is my detailed CanJam NYC 2024 show writeup (with many Watercooler moments included):

An epic, superbly laid out and highly enjoyable read...thank-you sir. I actually prefer it when people's impressions posts are staggered over the weeks and months following the show as it extends my ability to re-live all the beautiful memories in some vividness.
In other news thanks to some help from Watercooler brother @Crazeee I was put in touch with the folks at Simphonio and was able to procure a tour unit of their P0 single planar IEM.
Early days so far but this IEM is superb. Top to bottom coherence, bass reaches to the stygian depths and has wonderful texture, mids are clear and sweet, timbre is excellent, stage is decently deep and expansive and the resolution as good as you'd expect from a planar. My only real comparison as far as planars go (from memory) is with the CFA Supermoon, which has more of a bass tilt. The P0 has a fairly balanced tuning with the vocals and mids in general being ever so slightly (but not too) forward in the mix. This one is definitely a level up from the Supermoon in a few key ways, namely the sweetness of the mids which lacks entirely the digital or "planar glare" that crops up on the SM from time to time. The P0 needs more juice than the SM, and overall of my two sources I'd say it synergizes better with the RS8 than the WM1Z. The Sup 3 would be another interesting comparison but I don't know it as well from memory as I do the SM...but off the cuff I would say the P0 has a richer timbre, similar resolution and may be the more versatile of the two. YMMV there. Grateful for this opportunity.
Edit: I've said this before and I'll say it again-- Planar drivers for me represent that "golden middle path" between the the superior texture and timbre of a DD and the superior articulation and resolution of a BA...the single driver coherence is just a magnificent cherry on the Sundae. The only real downside of this IEM is its price. I really hope there is a continued focus on single planar IEMs in the future as I feel it's still early days for them and that they really do have the potential to reinvent the market somewhat. Alternately, I suppose we could all just start EQing the IEMs we already own.

Thanks my friend, much appreciated.
I also get to relive the memories as I write these notes, a personal reward
