Any idea why my system volume changes depending on whether Tidal is foreground or background?

I can't use headphones with it on my windows system because every time I select the Tidal application window it maxes out my system volume and nearly blows my ear drums.

Windows10.

Your question lacks a bit of context troubleshooting wise.. But these settings may help check the Sound Output settings, Enable Exclusive Mode and Force Volume. You can raise and lower the volume from your DAC/Amp or Amp. If the issue persists open a support ticket with Aspiro(Tidal). Check your drivers, update your OS, and the Tidal app.

I asked Tidal, they couldn't explain it and kinda brushed it off.
I did a google search and it seems to happen to others.

I'm not sure what information you need, so please ask.

How do I get to the window you posted, I haven't seen anything like that?

If you're using the Tidal app on Windows go to Settings --> Streaming-->Sound Output-->Select your DAC or Sound Card-->then select more settings-->Enable force volume--> then enable Use Exclusive Mode.

Y'know, I've been on the settings page 100 times and I've glossed right passed that; I didn't think it was clickable.

Force Volume seems to be the trick. I will experiment more tomorrow.

Thank you for your help!

You're welcome @knght990! I hope that resolves your Tidal issue. The App has been rock solid on Windows 10 & 11, So when I saw your post I responded to see what settings you might have enabled/disabled.
